Hello all,

I'm a big racing fan and purchased this game last weekend. Needless to say I've been playing it non-stop - it's simply the best game ever made :D

I have a couple of quick queries - apologies if I sound really dense asking these! :oops:

1. Is there any indicator to what the ground will be like in future races? For example, if I am looking to run a horse who prefers softer ground, and I want to run him in a race 2 or 3 weeks away, is there any way of tellling what the ground will be like? For races in the very near future it's okay as it has a weather indicator, I just wondered about those a few weeks away? Or is this information available in the 'racecourse' section?

2. Secondly, how the heck do I run a 2 year old? It never seems to bring up any races for them to enter?

As far as I know there`s no way to know what the ground will be like at that stage - just like in real life!

As for the 2yo races - are you playing NH only game? In the combined or flat only schedule 2yo maidens should start appearing around March time, nothing in Jan or Feb unless you have tweaked your schedule to include them.

There is a weather forecast for each meeting on the declarations page. That is the only indicator as to what ground you might get in future meetings.

I'm actually doing the combined schedule. Of the three horses I start with in each new game, one is always a 2 year old. Am I able to race it? Also, there is always the option to buy 2 year olds at the end of each auction from the beginning of the game. Do races for 2 year olds exist? I seem to have noticed lots of people with successful 2 year-olds on this forum!

I haven't got the game in front of me right now, but is there a weather forecast for every single race on the declarations page then (including those a couple of weeks away?). If I remember correctly I thought it was only the nearest few races...

Yes, you can only be sure of the actual going a day or two before the meeting. The meetings further ahead only give you a forecast, which may (or may not) be the case come race day. You just need to keep checking regularly, and withdrawing horses a day or two before if the predicted going doesnt suit.

2YO races will show up from March onwards - these will be 5f maidens to begin with, but as the season progresses, these will increase in distance.

One reason the races might not be showing up is that you might have some filters on the declarations screen?

Any idea how I can put upper case letters in my name by the way? It's always lower case :?:

Hi for some reason in SO you have to hold down Ctrl then press any key you want Capitalized, also the same for changing your stable name...

I didn`t know that either - always find it slightly annoying when my stable name isn`t capitalized correctly.
Guess that makes me anally retentive lol.

it did not work for me ipressed ctrl then the letter i wanted still came up lower case

still didnt work for me it put first letter of every word in capital but when pressed enter ony first word had a capital
