If you have a couple of Group One winners who have won over 20 Group One wins how old would you keep them breeding for before you retire them from the game. I usually retire them when they reach 10 am I losing out and should keep Breeding them until a certain age. |

To be honest I don't generally notice any drop-off in the quality of foals after the parents reach a certain age. I'm not exactly the most perceptive person though. Although.....it might be why I'm getting far too many foals that are merely top-line handicappers when on breeding most should be top-of-the-line horses. I probably should look into that. |

I had a few Iron Horses, who won the dubai world cup aged 7. But after the Dubai races I sent them to the breeding bar. These horses I could definitely not retire from breeding such early as 9 or 10. Retiring from breeding depends on the quantity of quality of the offspring. If I don't have a good one, I try a few years longer. I don't want to lose a breeding line. Having an outcross stallion I try even longer to get good foals. |
