I probably wont get many agreeing with me on this, but I think that there are far too many meetings, when I see 2 or 3 meetings on the same day, my heart just sinks.

For someone who likes to play the game slowly and watch a lot of races, a season takes a hell of a long time to complete. This is also a major reason that horses run an unrealistically high number of races in a season (that and the fact the horse database simply isn't big enough).

Thoughts anyone?

No i disagree i only watch the races my horses are entered in and just click past the ones not got any runners in i think the game need more horses and more meetings myself by meetings i mean minor meetings as there is still not enough 2yo races over 1m plus in the second half of the season.

I think my game is perfect, i've only got 19 Usa racecourses in it and i'd say half of the days are one meeting days.
I only race from the 1 of march to the end of october, the best horses race about 7 to 8 times a season, even the hcapers race about ten times a season. I think my game is as realistic as u can get.

I think u would need to double the database to run two/three meetings a day and keep it realistic.

I tend to mainly only watch races that my horses are entered in as well, apart from a few big races that I might watch just out of interest.

As has been said on here before, the game can be as quick or as long as you want.

The three meetings are probably there to give you more entry options but if you want to watch daily racing you can always cut down by watching only two of the meetings.

If you check out UK racing nowadays they are sticking on as many meetings as possible just to keep the bookies happy.

have to agree with gs63 on a couple of points, firstly in some cases horses run an unrealistic amount of times in the uk flat game over a season, and this is because the horses database isnt big enough to spread over the yearly meetings, i also play the game day by day,race by race,so itll take me a long time to complete a season,other than that its a fantastic addictive game.

I reckon at least 100,000 horses and I would gladly help out with realistic names to add that extra touch but the names need to be divided into seperate sub folders for colts/stallions/geldings and fillies/mares.

yeah i agree exxplozion a bigger horse database would be good,although ive renamed a lot of the horse database with new names and 16076 took me weeks and weeks to do,so 100,000 would take god knows how long,makes me sweat just thinking about it.

As another member of the 16076 club, I agree with Taurus. I reckon that if Mark expanded the horse database to 100,000 for SO6 as exxplozion suggests, then a few of us on here could work on 10-20K each. Also agree with Kev that gender-neutral names is a must for SO6 as well.

The names database will probably be increased in the future. By how much I don't know. Also there is the possibility of separating male,female and generic names. This would require three files. If anyone has done this already (I know someone has separated names in the past but can't recall who) it would be helpful if they could email them in to help and future development/testing.
