just had my jockey say my horse is not genuine? what does this mean? also what is a genuine horse? |

I would say that it means the horse did not give his all and is likely to not obey what the jockey instructs it. Might also mean he is not a genuine race horse (poor breeding), indicating that the jockey felt the horse just isn't a good all rounder. A genuine horse could be one that is a good all rounder, a real fighter and is obidient to a jockey and will not let you down. These maybe incorrect, but that's how I would interpret the jockey's feed back. |

I have found not genuine to mean it needs blinkers, a visor or cheek pieces. See what the head lad says on the training screen, you may well find he'll tell you to put a pacifier on it. In reality an ungenuine horse is one which doesn't try very hard or who will try it on a bit when asked to do something it doesn't want to do. |
