Post Is there a reason my horses aren't allowed to race?
I'll have a horse entered in a race, not-injured, at full stat bars, etc. I get to the day before the race, and go to roll over to the next day, and suddenly the horse isn't entered in anything at all. At first it just happened every now and then, but now I'm getting kicked from a full 50% of the races I enter, probably more.

It's also gotten to the point where I have to sell any horse that gets injured, period, because they will never race again. Even if it's a small injury that takes less than a week to heal, even if they're back in the green, it will say "HORSE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED AND CANNOT RACE" for the rest of their life. I had a race that got injured at 2 yrs old in the middle of summer. The injury took five weeks to heal (I hate the news ticker and had it off, so I don't know the specifics of the injury). He was nine years old before I finally retired him from the game because it would not let me enter him in any races. I had the same thing happen with about ten other horses, though I didn't keep them as long before retiring them from the game.

Is there a fix for this? I feel like I wasted a good chunk of my money on this game if I can't even race my horses.

The entries thing sounds like you are entering horses where they are the bottom weights in handicaps. They will be pulled out if there is already a maximum field and yours are rated too low. Look out for a line in the list of runners, that is the rating cut off. Anything below that will be scratched on the day unless a load of the top ones are pulled out too. That or you haven't declared them for foreign races, you have to make sure you have a jockey booked when entering foreign races otherwise your horse will be deemed as undeclared.

If you have a horse who is seriously injured and even though it is better it won't let you race it, turn it out to grass for the season and it will come back fine. I have never had a small injury do that, only a major injury which took 23 weeks for recovery. But turning them out stops this and they'll be ok for the next season.

There is no fix because I don't believe it is a bug. Although if it is a bug it is a very well placed one because it makes the game quite realistic. Have a read of the posts further down about injured horses. Lots of us have had it.

Being dumped out of the races has been happening regardless of the type of race, and as a general rule I enter feature and graded races instead of handicaps anyway. And it happens in races where there's a very small field (i.e. four NPC horses, and my horse). I can't imagine a field smaller than five horses. It honestly seems to be happening at random whether they're allowed to race or not.

Well I have never had a horse dumped out of a feature race unless their rating is too low in a feature handicap. Are their ratings significantly lower than the other horses entered? And have you definitely booked a jockey?

If your horse is the lowest rated and there is a restricted number of runner e.g there is only 14 runners allowed in the breeders cup then the lowest rated runners are kicked out.

You guys aren't understanding. It's happening in races where there are almost no entries; I had it happen in a race where I was racing my horse against ONE other horse. I only have them entered in one race at a time, so it's not a case of where their rating has changed between being entered and the day of the race. And it's also happening in races where my horses are one of the higher-rated, not the lower. It's happening regardless of race type and number of competitors. I also have a jockey on retainer that is auto-booked for my horses.

Considering that it's getting worse the longer I play on this file, I'm almost certain it's a bug.

This is odd.

What schedule are you playing? Game type etc.?

If it is a glitch send the save game to Mark (zipped up) and he'll try to recreate it.
