I always thought if a horse had its Absolute Potential box full with darker green it had the potential to be a 140 rated horse, If its box was half full then would only be a 70 rated horse at best and so on... I have a 3 year old filly bred from a 130 rated stallion and a 112 rated mare... Her Absolute Potential is 3/4 with the darker green and she has fulfilled it.. Going on my method i would presume she would only be 105 rated at best and had she not won all 5 2 y.o starts would probably have got rid!.... She has now won 12 from 12 and is rated 138! Amy opinions? |

I'm unsure that the absolute potential bar can be directly compared to the rating myself. |

The rating is based on performance in a race. I don't believe the overall potential rating has anything to do with who high the horse's ratiing can be. YOu might have a horse 100% potential, but it doesn't live up to its potential, hence may not perform well in a race therefore its rating will be low. |
