Post subject:  Hard Level

Hi, I'm very new to SO series, I started off on easy level, managed to win everything, well almost. Was top trainer over flat and jumps in my 2nd season, easily in both. So then I decided to try hard level. I know I have good horses, but they struggle. In most races, the jockey says 'struggled to settle'. Even in the races I win, my horses struggle to settle. I believe it has something to do with me doing nothing with the training. I do not get it at all, so was wondering if anybody could help me? Thanks.

Struggle to settle is more to do with the horse been fired up, to relax him/her try pacifiers, cheekplates, nose roll. if its a colt/stallion, you may need to geld him. But the difficulty setting has nothing to do with this.

Ohh ok, thanks. Weird how loads of my horses suddenly have this problem after I change the difficulty. Must be a coincidence I guess. Do I need to do any training on hard level, or just leave it to do it automatically?

have a read on the forums, most of your questions have answers already on here, but to quickly answer this if you chose simple training mode then you dont have to train your horses, its done automatically.

STILL got problems! My horses NEVER settle. I got it so I don't need to train them, tried all the pacifiers, no joy at all :/ 7-8 out of 10 of my horses STILL wont settle. Any ideas?

Pacifiers won't help, they are for the opposite problem. Please read or search for your problem because I'm sure we have all lost count of the amount of times we've all answered this. If its 'not settle' then geld or sell. If its 'could have settled better' ignore. There are so many posts on this forum about this problem...

Cheeckpieces work on fillies about 1 in 20 times but is rare.

this can be bred out as my star colt had this problem quite a few of his offspring had it too but the fillies were really good

I agree it can be bred out. It takes a few generation. the first generation will generally affect most colts, only a few survive. Most filly without the symtom but most bred with another stallion, 50% chance of getting it for next generation of colts. I am now into the 4th generation and ocasionally a few crop up, not at the age of 2 but 3. So yes looks like able to bred out but takes time.
