I've won two Grade two hurdles with a horse in owner mode, one a novice race and one the following season. |

Ive won a couple of group 2s on my last owner game but despite holding an open day at every opportunity i didnt manage to get anymore and eventually ran out of money. The group 2s were bad though, both french and didnt have to face anything decent. Its a really good idea but it needs tweaking massively. Maybe start with more horses and should get at least a few 2yo every season. |

I won Grand National and another National a couple of weeks later, was top money trainer with only 2 horses, open day every month or so but still only got 2 horses. I had 3 but after getting a novice from 84 to 120 the owner took it away and gave it to trainer with 2 winners from 24 horses. This needs fixing but Mark must never read these AI owner threads. Won the Melbourne Cup witha hprse I got given and had the 5th a few G3's as well but only in 5 season and have 46 horses atm. It's a slow play to be honest if you want to get it right, |

I have won about 6 G1's and a few other group and listed races. The key is to take it very SLOWLY, no skipping days. Plan entries meticulously and correctly and always make sure you have at least one runner who will win or place high on the day and day before your open day. There is no quick fix but it is possible to do well. You cannot rush through seasons on this mode! |

I don't rush , furthest I got so far is start of season 3 in AI owner mode. got over 60 horses in one game but about 40 are level 30-40 which makes them useless on the flat and some are 11 or 12 years old. No chance of winning Group races or listed races with the ones I got and if I do improve a horse I lose it to another trainer. Not much point in playing at the moment. Bill |

So hard to do well for me. It does need tweaking thats for sure, but the concept it very very good. It will get there in the end. Thing is you can start the season with a grumpy owner and horses that are 8/9 with a rating of around 35. It's impossible to do anything with em. Great cocnept, not quite there yet. Possibly including a few 2yo in there to spice things up. |

A couple of questions please. What happens if you retire owners horses at end of season? And do owners retire their group winners to stud which we would obviously do? It would be great if they would retire them to our breeding barn. Got a decent yard of horses apart from so real old level 30 ish ones which I want rid of. Bill |

Just won trainner championship in Owner mode for the third time. I play normal difficulty, Uk flat. Prize money was more than 18 million. Won 12 group 1 races and placed with many horses. I had 1-2 in Arc and Japan Cup, won Epsom Derby and some races in Dubai World Cup and Breeders Cup cards. As i understand the main problem most of you have is that in open days there is no interest from owners or they offer you rubbish. Answer to all of that i gave, in earlier posts. I had the same problem when i started Owner mode. I belive this part of the game, Owner mode, is the future, but needs work to be done. Lot of things do happen only by luck and not because of your actions. Unfortunatly the best way to have horses and try to prove you are the best is to save and quit the game when there is an opene day. Then you load again and skip day, if there is offers you like you go on, if not quit without saving and load again until there is something you like. After some months you will have enough horses to train. To win group races you will need not only horses but to understand how to train them. I suggest that in the end of the year, you retire all those that have less than 90 rating, exept 2years old. You will manage a smaller but quality stable. Last season i had only 55 horses. What i never had is a 2 year old at the start of a season. This is something that needs fixing. |

Bill If you retire owners horses at the end of the season the horse leaves and the relationship with the owner doesn't seem to change. There is no stud so I assume that they would keep racing until the owner takes them away or you retire them yourself. I too would like to have a breeding barn, or for the owners to send their horses to stud (telling you of course) and for you to get first refusal on the offspring. This way we would get new 2yo's every year after a few seasons. Just retire from game the ones you don't want. Owners don't even seem to mind if you don't run them for a season if you retire them from the game. |

Wow, retired 8 horses at end of season and got 6 2yo's all by group 1or 2 winners. And big surprise at start of season a regular owner sent me a new 3yo 2 miler, I wonder if owners put them out to grass as well. Following advice in forum I now have 80 horses and have won 4 group 1 races, finally getting offered better horses. Bill |

We told you Bill!!! ![]() ![]() It isn't perfect but it is possible. Did an owner offer you the 2yo's or did they automatically arrive in your stable at the beginning of the season?? |

They arrived in new horses screen at start of season which surprised me, but not as much as owner sending that 3yo. Just glad of all the advice in forum. Bill |
