Quick question. The shot below is from a horse at the end of the 3rd year just before advancing to next season. As you can see, the realised potential is just shy of maximum. However at the end of the 2 year old season the potential was completely realised. Now I am pretty sure the max potential did not increase between the 2 and 3 year old season. It looks to me like the horse was at max realised potential and then at the start of the 3 year old season was again less than max realised potential and never quite got there again despite being raced throughout the 3 year old season.

The next shot shows the same horse at the start of the 4 year old season and as you can see the max potential bar has increased and the realised potential is maxxed out too. I just wonder why a horse with maximum realised potential as a two year old would then lose some of that and regain it completely when 4.
