Hi I am having trouble breeding sprinters. Whenever I get a half-decent 5 year old 5f stallion with say a 7-2-5 record and retire it to stud, the AI changes its breeding distance to 7f. I buy every 5f horse at the auctions, its distance stays at 5f up to about 5 or 6 years old and then it changes to 7f. How do you mange to breed 5f racers when the AI does this? By the way, the AI seems to change every decent horse I get. I just bred my best horse ever, distance 1.2, won 29/2/3 over 1.2, retired to stud at end of 5 year old season. When it turned 7, the AI changed it to 1.5. It has bred some good horses but they all go over 1.4 even when I breed him with 1.2 mares. |

you cant manage it really you just have to bring new blood in or transfer the same horse back in when he was 5f or 6f the older they get in the barn there distance goes up especilly with sprinters not so much with stayers |

This is certainly one of the most annoying aspects of the game. You get your breeding operation set up in place to produce sprinters, milers, middle distance horses, and stayers, but after a number of seasons all your offspring gravitate towards the longer distances. Frustrating. |

its very frustarating but can be managed with new offspring coming through and mix breedeing distance wise that is tough to do with sprinters though |

Why not identify your top sprinters at 2 like your Looking down Paul and retire them for breeding at 2, and breed the hell out of them before breeding ind. goes up? |
