Post subject:  Export tactics

Hi,

Although Ive been playing SO5 for 6 seasons and SO4 was for 30+ ive just realised I may have been exporting my horses wrong... :?

Now i presume im right in thinking if the jockey always comments "Held Up", you would export using "Hold Up" tactic.

Now what if it says "Restrained Early". Is that the export tactic "Drop out early" or "Slight Hold up"??

I am just exporting a horse and my mind went blank!! Cos then I was thinking, which ever one is correct for Restrained Early, then what is it the jockey says for the other one??

Hi Mwilksy,

In my experience "Restrained Early" means "Slight Hold up".
This is the way that I interpret it in my games and it seems to work.

Hey smitle,

Thanks for the response.

Its a weird one. Drop out "Early" seems to conform with Restrained "Early" - although I have also been using Slight Hold Up but noticed this lasts for most of the race rather than just early...

And what does the jockey report if he is using the other one?

I only use 'drop out early' if I don't want something to win the race.

'Slight hold up', for horses which want to be restrained early and 'hold up' for those which want to be held up right at the back for a late run. I tend to always use 'don't trail', 'challenge earlier' for hold up horses too otherwise they get too far behind and the jockey waits too long to challenge at the end, completely losing the race. It drives me mad!

why would anyone use drop out early as a tactic you are telling jockey to throw the race
i understand what you mean Supercat throw the race to get lower mark to sting bookies later on

I guess the only reason you might use 'drop out early' is if you were drawn really badly at a very draw biased track. You would probably need to be using a hold up horse as well.

Must admit I have never used it!
