Is any one else finding the American triple crown ridiculously easy to win in the UK game. I'm even winning it with stable lesser lights. In fact the game is just too easy in general. In the last two seasons I won every group 1 in the year. This should be impossible to do. In fact the only challenge in the game is winning the grand national

When playing a game on hard I expect it to be well HARD. At the moment its just glorified easy.

Maybe in SO6 another level can be created called really hard or super hard.
WHERE:

1. The AI horses are of a better quality and provide more of a challenge
2. There are actually some AI trainers that actually mount a challenge for the trainer title. At the moment its just too easy to win.
3. If a horse runs in say 8 or 9 group races in a season its performance needs to drop dramatically after that.
4. Things like the triple crown and some races like the Arc, World cup, Melbourne Cup etc are harder to win

At the moment the hard level just isn't a challenge and if it wasn't for the league ( and even that is not happening at present ) the game becomes reduntant quite quickly.

Hi Leon
Yes its very easy to win the triple crown
the enjoyment i now get out of the game is at the end of season trials in ck
to see how this generation gets on against my best ever
once your breeding op kicks in you start to dominate the game
if you want a real challenge try owners mode (but no league trainer would do this)

just as a footnote i don't no how many times i have explained this to people
HARD mode makes no difference in game play difficulty all hard mode does is give you less horses and money at the start
i have played on hard for the last 6 months no difference in difficulty compared to simple mode its exactly the same mate
people seem to get miss-leaded by game modes

I think I remember Mark saying once that Hard was only different in the amount of money you start with and the fact that the challenging horses are better. Though, as PJ said, once you breed with these better horses yours are better. I think this again boils down to there not being enough horses, if there were more horses there would be more to challenge you. At the moment all the horses are thinly spread over the comparatively huge amount of races in the schedule, especially if you're playing a custom one where every single feature race from every country is included.

Either we need WAY more horses (preferred option), or we need WAY fewer feature races and race days in general (not really an option, I like being able to try to win every real G1 out there)

I don't think more horses would necessarily make more of a challenge. The bottom line is that game bred horses can't compete with home breds. Unless the AI starts to breed horses too then no matter how good the game horses (given that the player has access to them to breed with) they always get beaten eventually.

As PJ says the challenge in the CK but that's only fun for those who are ultimately targetting the league. You could consider giving PJ's challenge that's stickied a whirl. Frankly even with the homebreds I have it takes a special horse to complete it. Most horses that can't stay at least 1m6 won't even come anywhere close. And if you have one that can stay that far, the challenge is to have enough early speed for the 7f race too.

id say owners mode would be a good challenge but no lge trainer will ever try it

Totally on board with this suggestion, see my thread on this subject:-

More horses is the preferred option definitley.

I make mine harder by having a breeding barn for me and having a breeding barn for the computer, i have about 8 horses a year and i breed about thirty or fourty( i will breed even more when i get the horses) for the computer. It makes the game more intresting, I like to keep records for all the horses i've breed.

To have fewer meetings have a one feature race each day, then u will only have one race meeting a day.

This could have an even greater impact if the breeding is improved so there is a clear breeding structure for gamebreds, and they aren't just randomly generated, so whenever you sell horses they contribute towards breeding o the gamebreds and so improve the quality.

Yes, I think this would be a good thing too, it would certainly help improve the quality of gamebred horses, and make races more competitive.

If AI trainers could pay to send their mares to your stallions that would be great, the money generated could then be factored into a new modelling of realistic transport costs for your own horses entering races across the country and internationally.
