Post A few questions for a new player
1. The paddock button says I have to hire staff in the finance menu, but on the finance page I can't see the option. Can anyone explain where it is?
2. When on simple training mode my horses always seem to train at LOT2 and never reach full fitness. Is this normal? Is it better to use full training?
3. If booking at least 2 weeks in advance how can you estimate what the going will be? Do you register for lots of races and scratch where not suitable?
4. How accurate is the estimated favourite distance for a new horse? If it says 5f, does that mean that they are best at 5f, between 5-6f, 5-7f ?
5. Approximately (I know it varies by horse) how long do you leave between races? Does the distance raced have much effect on the time required?
6. If a horse is rubbish and there are no suitable low class races coming up is it better to race and lose or just wait until a suitable race?

I had a rubbish first season when I tried playing - so just looking for some pointers.

Thanks in advance

1) click the i icon on the image of your yard hire staff here
2) yes normal and does not effect the horses performance
3)no but you can withdraw horse on day if unsuitable
4) fairly accurate usually a furlong either side of adv distance (exceptional horses can go up and down in distance due to there class)
5)21 days for me they seem to be back to full fitness and peak
6)if your horse can not win a 0-70 handicap it will struggle to win a claiming race or a selling race so i would sell

1 you will find staff in the stable window click on the stable you will see all the add ons swimmimg,Gardner etc. look in the bottom left hand corner you will see Staff level Low/med/high
2 Always on lot2 makes no difference after a few days all horses are fit and raring to go
3 Again I don't take much of the going until the day but in SO5 some horses are compatible on all sorts of ground check the going/surface adaptability in the horses bar
4 Again not all horses with 5F preference means it needs 5F Check the stamina bar if its pretty low you will have a sprinter.
5 I find sprinters recover quicker middle distance horses around 20days
6 I don't bother with moderate horses I just pop them into sellers/Claimers or auction them off but if I did wait until suitable race.
