 how good is this horse?
I have a horse Augusta...you can guess why its named that! unbeaten in 2yo over 7f to 1m2, these were no special races but i thought id just bypass all the races and throw him in the derby, which he romped home in...and he has just won the irish derby easily as well...here are the times: 2.29.5 on hard at epsom 2.33.2 on good to soft at the curragh
How are these times on these grounds?i have no idea and dont have the time to dabble in the ck thing!
cheers jack

They aren't bad but nothing special either. Epsom on hard gives you a shot to set the fastest ingame times at 1m4f. To put in in perspective the best run I've had is 2:25:50. I'd expect a reasonable homebred horse to do close to 2:28:0 at Epsom.

Re: how good is this horse?
ok i agree now, he finished 3rd in the leger, only 1/4 length but still not unbeatable! Im thinking the 1m4 horses in my game arent the best this year as he just won the arc by 9Ls!

Re: how good is this horse?
The difference between 1m4 and 1m6 is 2 furlongs, which is bigger than you may think, so that will probably have had an effect if he has come out and won the arc, which is always hard to win in game.

Re: how good is this horse?
I like to race on after 3 and probably even the league breeders would keep in training until at least 4. He should improve, though will not be getting a weight for age allowance.

Re: how good is this horse?
Thats a good time for the Arc, my 3yos can run under 2.26 at Epsom but not many of them would beat 2.28.5 in the Arc.

For Arc (I'm assuming that time was run on hard), I'd expect to clock around 2:28ish. I should note that 2:25:50 at Epsom on hard would be with me running 3/4 runners. For a single runner race on Epsom on hard I'd expect to clock just under 2:27

Re: how good is this horse?
I do. It takes only a mediocre group horse to take it, but a really good one of mine has won it by a distance before. But my Arc is filled with sprinters because I added the King George 5f sprint at Goodwood to the schedule and since then that is used as the main prep for the Arc rather than the King George g1 over 1m4f run at Ascot!
