Post Good horses from non doctored games.
Ok, disclaimer first....... I have no gripes nor problems with how other people play this great game of ours, each to their own. However, because so many people play it to breed monsters, and then topics start to show horses, and you look at your own and think what's the point. So, I have started this thread for people who don't play to breed monsters.

This thread is to show off horses that are products of the game eau naturale, be they homebreds, game horses or whatever. It is for people like myself who have started a game and, in my case I am in season 12, and they just run with it and a season takes ages, and they manually train and enjoy the game how I believe it was meant to be (opinion)

There are basic ground rules, please abide by them.

1. You must do manual training (Easy training allows you to run horses an inordinately high number of times)

2. Your game can not have any horses that have been exported in from other save games.

3. Entries should have the individual horse's main screen that shows its career stats etc (or breeding data screen if retired to the barn) and at least one race result screen that allows people to see what it has beaten. (you see so many race results of people's monsters and the ratings of what they beat are barely over a hundred, the races are foregone conclusions)

There may be more rules as they crop up, but you get the idea (and if you can think of any I have missed out feel free to mention them and they'll be added). It is not a competition, and please, if you don't like the idea don't start slagging it off or ridiculing the times our horses take to win races, I have said it is not a thread for monsters, it is a thread for pure, undoctored horses. To people like myself, these horses are our achievements from this wonderful piece of software, they no doubt would get slaughtered in the league, but that's the point, we don't all play the same way.

Thank you.

I will start the ball rolling with my best mare ever, to date, who is now at stud. She was virtually unbeatable towards the end of her racing career over a mile and a half.

Ok I'll bite. I'm not sure what the purpose of this thread is. All the so called monster horses that you see had to come from gamebred horses. It seems a little churlish to me to say transferring and finding good horses from multiple games to breed better horses is any less natural than finding them in one game. The process is the same after all.

Anyway here it is. A little while back I started this game to show that you didn't need a lot of seasons to get good horses for the league. I simply booted up the save game. The year is end of 2015.

This horse was bred from two gamebreds from the same game and the game uses the default schedule so there aren't 100s of G1s to pad stats with.

It's two year old record. Started in a G2 and then a variety of races I thought would be challenging.

The Abbaye win. You can see there are 5 higher rated horses and with the highest rated 128 and ran 12th for what that's worth.

The only thing I haven't bothered with is manual training but given that there's at least 3 weeks between races well that is plenty of time to get the horse in tip top shape (and yes I've played a ton of games with manual training as well as easy for both SO4 and SO5).

PS I'm not slagging the thread or the spirit of the thread :). As I stated at the top I just find bits of the original post churlish. I really don't think it matters how you play the game. The mechanics are the same and it's really not hard to breed good horses whether it's with one game or several. Several does make it quicker though :P!

Thanks for the post akhc, you give me hope that I can breed quality league horses from my method of playing. I'm not the most computer literate as I have difficulty w/ all the uploading/saving nonsense required, so my preference is to play just one save and breed horses from that, without crashing and repeating seasons. I'm off to a good start in my current save w/ 3 stallions in my breeding barn w/ all max potential reached in my second season. I know this won't produce as many monsters as others are capable of producing, but my hope is to get a handful of horses that I can someday enter into the league.

Now only if I can find a top mare :(. Hoping that some of these game mares will produce decent offspring and provide me w/ some great filly's.

Cheers.

I am impressed with how you play the game. :)

Do you use betting to garner income?

I'll be totally honest, as money becomes irrelevant, I 'cheat' as the biggest majority of people do to get money fast, so, yes I do bet, but not entirely honestly :)

I din't think I was being churlish akhc, and i apologise if it has come across like that. I was merely trying to start a thread for those players who don't play to make monsters for the league. I believe there is a difference. If you import horses from all different games into one you are bound to breed quicker and quicker horses that are not possible in the lifetime of a game played how some of us do. And I have no problem with this, I only wanted to create a thread where 'good' horses could be showcased that otherwise wouldn't get a look in. I know I am never going to break any of the record times set on here, i don't choose nor desire to play the game in a way that would make that possible. I thoroughly enjoy the game the way I play it, and I'm sure everyone is likewise in enjoying the game played their way, fair play. If my intentions have been misunderstood or misconstrued then sorry, I certainly didn't set out to do that.
