Post subject:  Putting horses Out to Grass

Hi Guys . New to the forum. Been playing Starters Orders 4 and 5 for a few years now and loving it. Got a quick question i'm hoping someone can answer.

Is there any benefit from putting a horse out to grass?

I have often put most of my best horses out to grass in October time when I have finished racing them for the season in order to give them a break.

I am wasting my time doing this or can it be of benefit?

Sorry if this has been asked before. I did search "out to grass" and didn't find this exact question

You can use out to grass for a few purposes really. I use it for my 2YO who need 1m 4f plus as I know I wont find a good race for them in their 2YO career, best waiting until they turn 3. Also, when a horse doesn't take much racing in a season (low stamina bar) I send them out to grass at that point too. I also use it to send useless horses that I can't sell out of my stable with the "retire from game" button ticked so that they don't clog up my yard, and disappear completely at the start of the following season.

I use it for pretty much the same reasons. All those 2yo olds that will need longer trips(I breed about 30 horses per season)/ those you've run into the ground early season/long term injuries all go to grass. It makes managing your stable of runners so much easier when you haven't got 100 horses in a list!!
