hi i had Starters Orders 1 years ago, and have just bought SO 5. theres alot new extras and jumps! yay ![]() but i cannot seem to get to the auctions. i see the auction icon at end of week at a meeting say ayr for example and i go there. in the old game auction would happen after last race of day. now? every way i try i get no auction. what am i doing wrong ? or is auctions only at certain dates or months? how else can we buy the thoroughbreeds or group 1 horses? thanks |

Gambling, often on my own horses, but AI monsters too, particularly NHF races. |

hey i played few short test games to get feel for SO 5 having only played SO years ago. I find its more complex and so many more icons to learn im still not sure of all yet ![]() I had little success -every horse i got on startup seemed to be donkeys no matter what distance ground or course lol but finaly i tried the irish jumps and ive found a nugget in Percy! ![]() Season 1 Won the irish Champion Hurdle by 41/2 lengths, 2nd in the cheltenham champion hurdle to Onde our great rival in many 2m , 2m4f races! ![]() ![]() Q. the average 2/3 year olds we can buy for 50k etc will some of them progress into decent horses or will they always be low potentails? when you start game cash is tight early and any horse ive been able to bid for seem weak. |

Buying unraced at the auctions is always a gamble, nothings guaranteed there, even if you spend a fortune. Look for ones with a vcouple of previous runs with fast times in previous races, you can sometimes pick up a bargain. Good luck mate. |

Best time to buy unraced at auctions is older horses who are unraced in auctions in the first half of season 1 |

I always found purchasing lightly raced male handicappers, gelding them and then looking to land a plot somewhere along the line. Sometimes it works fantastically well, and sometimes you just end up with a dud. Adds an element of fun into the game though which is nice. ![]() |

hey lads i havent had much time to play of late but i was wondering about breeding. my 2 foals are yearlings. i can name them when as a 2 y old? march? when breeding should i keep the sire and broad mare trying to foal all time? or stop once yearlings are born? does the sire and broadmare diminish in breeding quality each foal or can we breed indefinitely? how do you guys breed so many "monster horses" do ya literally play ingame each day for years for generations? i find that incredibly slow.. breeding seems very slow and long gamed to me i dont have much time to put into the game or as much as id like to. can breeding be speed up by construction kit? or is that just for time clocking testing? and if i spend alot time and then the foal turns out average ? lol the only way i have found to skip forward a little so my foals come of age is to pick a race at end of season and skip to that, but its not as fast as when we used to skip months forward by button as in a previoius starters orders game? sorry if these q.s were asked before elsewhere |

i was gonna just skip forward to see my foals blossom but even deliberate fast skipping seems to take forever! any other way to breed , mature grow these horseys lads? for us busy bees? |
