Post Re: Road To Cheltenham/Aintree
Ok I don't play the jumps game on here so I will just go for what I know in real life.

For the Grand national a lot of horses go to the Becher Chase at Aintree in November or the Welsh National at Chepstow after xmas. There is also the Grand national trial at Haydock in mid February and the Eider chase up at Newcastle a week after that. Once your get an older horse that is quite exposed I would limit his/her chase runs to protect their handicap mark and just give them a prep run over hurdles a month before.

For Cheltenham there are obviously lots of races so it depends what horse you have, I will just stick to the main 4 championship races for now. For a potential gold cup horse go for the Betfair chase at Haydock in November followed by the King George at Kempton on boxing day. Alternatively there is the Lexus chase in Ireland before the new year.

For a champion hurdle horse there is the fighting fifth hurdle at Newcastle in November followed by the Christmas hurdle at Kempton on boxing day. The Irish champion hurdle takes place at the end of January too.

For a 2 mile chaser there is the tingle creek at Sandown at the beginning of December followed by the Victor Chandler chase at Ascot in January. This will then lead to the champion chase at the festival.

Finally the world hurdle route over 3 miles. There is the long distance hurdle at Newbury in November then the long walk hurdle at Ascot a month later. The Cleeve hurdle at Cheltenham in January is also an option.
