Can somebody please tell me what is the point of claiming races?? For example when would it be of benefit to run your horse in one? |

Claiming races the point of claiming races are the chance for trainers to buy horses at a certain price say trainer thinks his horse is worth £8,000 then the horse will be weighted in the race for that price the higher the price the bigger the weight the horse will run with but the horse in real life can be claimed for £8,000 if there are more than one claim a draw will take place and the winner of the draw gets the horse. but in S05 that doesn't happen and the winner goes to auction after the race and another good reason for claimers if you like punting is put your good horse in a claimer knowing its way better than a claimer gamble all your money on it then buy it back at auction with loads of money in your bank account. |

Or sometimes I like to have a little fun on jockey mode. If I have a decent horse that perhaps isn't quite G1 level (finishes 4th-5th every G1 ect) then I take the reigns in a claimer and make them lose by miles. Their handicap mark soon plummets and I take the reigns in the best handicaps and hose up! It's complete cheating but it just adds another little dimension to my game where I usually only focus on breeding my best horses to make superstars. |

I used to think it was a way for owners to get rid of there horses that aren't even that good in handicaps. |
