Like the majority of people here i have purchased SO6. But unlike the previous versions of SO i have already found myself loosing interest in the game. The game is just completely flat the fact that nothing more than new graphics have been added is very disappointing. The gameplay has completely stood still now for the past 2-3 versions of the game. No advanceement of breeding, no new game options, there is nothing in this game to hold you in once you get over the new graphics. Am i the only person that loosing interest ??? |

Totally agree with you both, I pre-ordered and am so disappointed, yes the graphics are nice and when all bugs are ironed out the race sequences will be excellent but in terms of gameplay it is a crime it has been neglected in this way, I've played all versions of starters orders for many many years and this is the first one I'm bored of and its not even out of beta yet. So come on Mark, iron out the bugs for release then give us what we want, an overhauled breeding system, proper ratings and all the other things we've been crying out for for years, all we want is a virtual racing world we can totally immerse ourselves in. To be honest mate this is a shoddy effort and very superficial, it looks nice but when you peel back the layers there's nothing there. Just my thoughts on a game series I love. |

Have to say I agree, 3d Is great but the other new options are pointless, The travel option does it actually have any outcome on how the horse will run, not that I have noticed, And it still seems to be that jockey quality is the same no matter who you put on the horse. Overall very let down |

Absolutely nothing in this thread that i can disagree with, i'm very disappointed with the lack of development in gameplay. |

Agree Agree. I've seen so many good suggestions over the past few years on how to improve the game non-graphics wise and have been totally let down by the fact that almost nothing was even put in the game. What was this? Just a project to work on your 3-d designing skills? In case you forgot - We paid money for this. |

All the time and effort were put into graphics, we knew there would be new 3D graphics but we were never told that the game would be the exact same as SO5 without the graphics. Just really disappointing. It's mainly a trainers/owners game and not a jockey mode. There should be more to do other than the same old entering a horse and running it. Every race feels the same. Breeding is the exact same, even if we could breed from the legends it would make it somewhat better. The whole news section needs an overhaul. There should be a weekly news segment and interviews etc. A FM media aspect. The email system should have more feedback from owners and press interviews etc. There should be jockey reports etc about how a horse felt on the gallops, what races they think they should run it. What distance they should run over etc. There should be loads to do in the game but there's not. The stable/travel expenses thingy is just pointless. Yeah a nice addition but it shouldn't be the only addition that was made to the game. When the errors are patched Mark should add extra features to the game and we should not have to wait until SO7! |

I am the opposite. I stopped playing so5 a year ago and the 3D has re ignited my passion for the game. The jockey play I believe is the single most impressive feature and I really hope this is developed. Even now I have never enjoyed a jockey game so much and I have played them all. I do not play in the league though and I only get involved with breeding occasionally so these areas are not so big for me. |

Also I know it is a big request but some kind of online play with the jockey mode would be fantastic (especially over fences) |

I am disappointed that it is difficult to see how far is left in the race, also there should be more information on the runners during the race - if nothing else the starting price so you can see if an outsider is coming in or where the favourite is. |

I've paid £20 to support the development but I was hoping for more than just a 3D engine. Horses being raised 16lb for a 1 length win is game breaking for me so I've stopped playing already. |

I disagree. I'm disappointed over some aspects like the lack of realism in the race sequences, but the 3D graphics and the things that have came with it (such as jockey POV, seeing a race from multiple angles) has really revamped my interest for the game, and I think it will catch interest from a larger market. I really enjoy the world map aspect as well. Give Mark time to iron out the bugs, and we can eagerly await S07 for even more advancement in the gameplay. We can't expect everything at once with the newest addition of the game. |

This is true BUT we should be told just how much of the game play is that of SO5, almost all I suspect, even some of the faults of SO5 have been carried over (double auction fees sometimes but not always for example) One of the earlier posts on this thread hit the mark I think in saying this game is aimed at a larger public,a games playing public that will only take note of great graphics. My daughter and I both bought SO6 ,she has gone back to 5 already and Im only staying in because its still being beta tested so Ill give it the benefit of the doubt. If pushed to answer Id say game play is, at the moment a little worse than SO5 ( Handicapping, too many close races etc) but that might still change. If we have to wait for and pay out again for better game play in SO7 that will NOT be good |

atiggerx33 wrote: Races are supposed to be close, in horse racing you don't see Secretariat level win margins every day. The average win margin is under 2 1/2 lengths, wanting them to be larger is very unrealistic. Even if your horse was immensely better you don't want it to be more tired for the next race it needs to run. I wouldn't want unrealistic win margins anywhere near the game. I don't think the previous poster was meaning that he wanted all races to be won by large margins. He was just saying that pretty much every race was won by a narrow margin. This was the case when the beta was first released, although it's been tweaked by Mark and there is now a far greater variety of race outcomes. We all enjoy close finishes, but you do also see those races where one horse is very impressive and demolishes the field, and it's not always an all-time great; it can sometimes just be a horse that is on top form that day, or is just much better than its opponents on any given day. One of the best sights in horse racing is seeing a great horse pulling away from a field and winning by many lengths. Those races need to be in the game, as well as the close finishes. |
