Right I got a very good 2yo that has very nice stats however he seems to be a 1 1/2 mile runner which is a problem because as a 2yo there aren't many races like this should I just send him out to grass or just keep racing him in shorter races such as 1 mile so gets more experience? |

I usually put them out to grass and build them up over 3yo career Maiden - Handicap - listed - Group - Oaks/Derby |

As a 2yo he should be ok over 7f and 1m, as horses like this are in real life. Give him a run over 7f in August or September and then step him up to 1m if needed. How high is his stamina bar? |

If a 2 y/o has a low Stamina rating I will give them two 5f races and a 6f race. Keep an eye on the stamina bar throughout the season as this can start to move and I use this as an indication that the horse is ready to run further distances. Remember this is how I determine when to run a horse for certain distances, it may not be correct, but it tends to work most of the time for me ![]() PJR's tactic works also, however I tend to not have the patience to wait that long because I have such a small stable at present. I have only just started playing SO6 after a break from SO5 so if I had a larger stable I would happily wait, as long as the deterioration bar was low. |

There is one other solution to this. Run the horse 2 or 3 times as a 2yo over 5 furlongs, it is likely to get hammered. At the start of its 3yo career it will have a stupidly low handicap mark and you can then run it in 1 1/2 mile handicaps and clean up with the bookies and run up quite a sequence of wins. Kind regards, Mark Prescott. |
