Post Game specs
Really sorry if this topic is already open but is there anywhere that actually lists what spec computer i would need to play so6. i run the trial on my old laptop and it was nowhere near good enough so will need to purchase a new one. I have seen a post asking is this computer or that computer ok but really just wanted to know memory needed, graphic card etc so i can do some research myself. any help always appreciated

I am using a 6 year old laptop with Core2Duo 1.73 and 128mb graphics card. This is the absolute minimum I would recommend as I have to play with reduced settings - but the framerate is around 30-35 which is just enough for smooth viewing. I would say that any modern day computer (with graphics memory above 512mb) should work fine.

Don't take that as a guarantee!! I'm no computer expert!! Having said that I'm pretty certain what I said was accurate. Officially (according to Mark) the frame rate should be 60 but like I said apart from the occasional stutter (only when there are a lot of trees in the background) my game works smoothly at around 35. Anyway, any new computer with an i3 and graphics with a min of 512 mb should easily give you the 60 required for perfection. happy shopping!

Cheers paul.

Im still not sure what I'm supposed to be buying. I get the i3 processor but at a loss with the graphics card. Can get lenovo's cheaper through work. The cheaper ones seem to say intel hd graphics, some say amd radeon hd 8330 graphics or e545 amd integrated graphics. I can't get my head round it.

As I'm only buying the laptop for so6 i want to be sure it runs smoothly but also want to get it as cheap as i can. I try not to keep posting and clogging up the boards but i just can't find any answers on here stating a definitive guide of what you need to run the game smoothly.

I can't see anything cheaper than £500 that looks suitable....would that be about right?

Any help...im desperate!

my partners laptop was only 320 and it has a radeon hd 8330 graphics and it runs fine even with 1.4 ghz processor, but id choose a laptop with around 2.0 ghz or higher.

Yeah the graphics cards/requirements have become very complicated:

For under 400:

If you can get a discount for a lenovo, then try this one:

http://shop.lenovo.com/gb/en/laptops/th ... 0:000003CA:

There is an option to upgrade to a 2Gb graphics card for only 64 pounds. Although the standard HD4600 integrated graphics will probably work fine I would suggest upgrading as you will be able to sell your laptop easier in a couple of years.

If you want to see how the game looks before buying - save the "race trial" file to a pendrive and go to a shop and ask them to play it on a laptop with hd4600 graphics and then on one with a 2Gb graphics card - that will give you a chance to compare them.
