Has anyone ever played Melbourne Cup Challenge, the graphics on this game for the races are very very good, would be great to see if Starters Orders can get to this level with the graphics.

It was released at Frankie Dettori Racing in the UK.

The graphics looked ok, but it suffered from the same problem as console games Gallop Racer and G1 Jockey, in that depending on what type of runner the horses was (front, handy, hold-up, closer), the AI would just have the horses sit in the same position for the entire race, before making them move in the last furlong - there was no action from these horses during the race at all. In addition to that problem, Frankie Dettori Racing (Melbourne Cup Challenge) also suffered from having absolutely terrible camera angles for watched races, especially on the finishing straight.

In SO6, we have good graphics, and we also have horses moving and changing position throughout the races, making it far more realistic.

Don't get me wrong, I would prefer SO6 over Melbourne Cup Challenge period, but we can learn from other games and the commentary in that game is much better than SO6 and is proof that it can be done but with a lot of work.

It seems that game has voice files for every word (name) and joins them together when there is multiple words.

All you would need to do is record every word.....I know a huge task!

You could then increase the volume of the commentary at about the 3 to 2f 400 mark and again in the last 50 meters for more excitement.

That would be fantastic if Mark could implement this.
