 Auction Prices
I've always concentrated only on buying the most expensive band of horses at the start of season auction, just wanted to know if anyone had found some really good horses (by really good I mean multiple group ones) from the second or third tier of horse prices at the start of season auction in SO5 or whether it's a waste of money going for the cheaper horses when looking for group one winners.

 Re: Auction Prices
I have bought those that are above 1 mio. I can find a few horses thatcan win group races when they are 2 but when they reach 3, they just faded. Perhaps win a few G2 and G3s but not G1.

 Re: Auction Prices
wrong approach guys just cos a horse is expensive it doesnt mean that it is anygood i usually look at the horses that have a much higher reserve price than their actual guide price.........i usually find that these are the better ones but after finding one or two decent types then i only breed my own and no more buying.............1 other tip that i have found useful is that if i get a horse that consistently wins listed races then i know that this will be good in the barn ...it happens time after time when i breed these with G1 horses i get superstars

 Re: Auction Prices
also be patient i bought a sprinter at 2yo for over a mill and he was very poor at 2 3 and 4 however he then had an unbeaten season at 5yo winning all the 6f G1 races so i guess its just like reality where not all horses are good as kids
