Post A bit of a dilemma with the Guineas entries...
Well I have 2 fillies for the 1000 Guineas. I don't really want either to get beaten but I'm not sure which one to keep in the race...

With Hannah: I'm sure she'll win. She's beaten everything in the field already and I can't see her getting beaten, I think she is my best (and first) chance at winning all the 1m fillies classics.

Hermine: I'm sure she's going to win the Oaks and the Irish Oaks. Again I haven't seen anything which I think will get close to her in either race. But I would like to try to go for the fillies Classic double with her. Even though she looks slow, she was like that in the Fillies Mile and she flew home to beat them easily and I think she could do that again.

What would you do? Or would you run them both anyway and hope for first and second whichever way it goes??

I would enter Hannah. She has already proved she can beat the field and looks much more suited to 1m.

I would personally start upping the distances that Hermine runs so that both horses don't keep running over the same distances, therefore you avoid future dilema's of who deserves to run and can also try to maintain both horses unbeaten records.

I had the same problem as you, I have at least 6 classy 1milers and I have had to push them to become 7f, 1m, 1m1f and 1m2f at times to avoid mettign to often.

Hermine's 'stamina' looks good enough to perform well over 1m4f, so therefore she may have a shout at the (fillies)English triple crown (age permiting) : 1,000 Guineas Stakes, Epsom Oaks and St. Leger Stakes.

I am actually attempting that this year for the first time with one of my fillies, she won the 1000 guineas by 7 1/2 lengths and the Epsom Oaks by 4 1/2 lengths, however she is a 1 miler so the ST Leger is going to be extremely tough going for her, but I feel it is worth the risk to enter the history books !

Hmmmm that's what I was thinking. I am tempted to risk one of their records and just see who is first and who is second because I would love to try for either triple crown. If not Hermine will go for the Oaks, Irish Oaks, Nassau and Yorkshire Oaks and she might have a go at the St Leger, but then the next dilemma arises because I have an even better looking 1m6f horse who will bypass the Derby for the Irish Derby (more his kind of course) and will then go to the Leger... But then I have another colt who is 1m4f who I would like to go for the Derby, Irish Derby, then QEII and Arc with but one of them will have to be beaten!!!

Ha ha, these horses aren't even that good looking (stats wise) but they are beating everything put in front of them; even though they aren't that good yet I still really don't want them to be beaten!!

This seems even more daft when I remember that this is just a game...

Had same sort of dillemna in my game, my higher rated filly went for the english 1000 gns then the prix diane in france whilst my 2nd best filly went for irish 100gns and english oaks... won them all.

Which way did you go madam Cat, and, what was the outcome? One cannot lead with a tale such as this and leave the masses wondering :)

Neves I still haven't got there yet! Hannah has won the English and French Guineas but I haven't played much, broken up with a partner etc so SO hasn't been getting much of a look in. I will update you as soon as I get there, I reckon she can still win the Irish then the Coronation Stakes. I think Hermine is a certainty as long as she is ridden correctly.

Bit of a drama! She got chronic diarrhoea (I did laugh!) 2 days before the Irish Guineas (I did try to ctrl-alt-delete but I'd saved the game after the diagnosis) and her condition dropped too quickly to run her! So she won't complete the Guineas treble but she will go for the Coronation. I'm almost at the Oaks so I'll let you know how Hermine gets on.

Hermine has won the Oaks! With another of mine called Bald Bear in second, I sold her at 2 because she didn't look very good. But she's obviously not the slouch I thought she was!

2 nice fillies, im currently on the double trail with Decor, surprised she was quick enough to win the guineas, i know she gets 1m 2f so im gonna go for the oaks, however the breeding tells me she wont get the trip, her mother only got 7f! haha
