I am finding that as well from 3 to 4 on some of the ones I have trialed... I normally only use the 3yo times to assess whether the horses are good enough but now it looks as if I might have to start running until they're 5!

I'm seeing the same thing.

4yos are faster than 3yo not like before in SO4. In SO4 most of the best horses were 3yo but in SO5 it looks like 3yo is not the peak.

Every time I think that I start changing my mind...

I have some horses that drop off a cliff at 5, like 4/5 lengths worse than their 4yo version.

my first ever attempt to breed for the league and enter the league, I'm focussing on milers only atm, although most of them will get 10f but consistently 2 or 3 horses are winning my trials at times around 1.40.50, after 13 seasons, is that good?

1:40 is a good starting point, a lot of my first crops were doing that. I wouldn't solely focus on one distance as you might miss some super horses to breed from.

Had a few hours to kill today waiting for a plane so did a couple of seasons and have just gone under 2:08 for 10f which im happy with as I've hardly played SO5. Still 2:33 for 1m4 and haven't had many stallions for other distances. Just about to breed the 10f superstar with EVERY filly I have from 5f-2m4.

Look forward to discussing the changes, Rich.

Post Re: CK & Trialing
Just thought I would update. My NH and flat breeding lines are inter-fusing and as a result my times have improved a lot. I now have my top 12f stallion in the breeding barn in both my games, he ran 2.42 on good ground in the King George so am expecting the 12f time to improve. Doing the bulk of my trialling at Newmarket as I get better improvements in my breeding lines with the horses that trial well there. But these are my new Ascot comparison times.

5f 58.5
6f 1.11.2
7f 1.23.8
1mile 1.39.5
10f 2.08.3
12f 2.33.2
14f 3.09.1
2 miles 3.42.1
2m4f 4.48.1

Post Re: CK & Trialing
considering you just started your sprint line paul i think youre doing well i got about 100 seasons in 3 games spent the last 2 months solely on sprinters so am a bit dissappointed with my times however it has given me some very good breeding stock for my distance horses which are now flying after only about 20 seasons.back to the sprinters me thinks

my plan is to get into late 56secs or early 57 secs

then cover them with decent stayers and try and find some real good milers and 1m2f horses

i have been working on sprinters for only a few days so happy with progress
