When this gets sorted properly I will buy the game. I'm quite happy with SO4 at the minute and I don't want to swap it for a game that still needs ironing out. Sadly it will probably be a year from the original release date before we get to that stage :(

Do you know something no one else knows saying it will be a year before it is sorted?
Or are you just avoiding buying a great game which as far as I am concerned already sorted now. Enjoy SO4 but you are missing out on Owners Mode.

Madness! It isn't perfect and the owners mode still needs a little tweaking (as it was a trial mode anyway), but the game is incredible and I would NOT go back to SO4 now, ever. You won't know until you buy, but it's your loss.

Post Re: owners mode
To be honest I'm not here to slate the game in general, I have been delighted with the series and wouldn't be without SO in some form. However it took me a while to get the game how I wanted it and I have read about many problems that would seem to detract from the functionality and playability of the game. Even some of the minor errors would drive me round the twist!!
While SO is undeniably the best horse racing sim available, is it too much to ask that the game be released in it's finished state and be fully playable?
I am aware of the constraints placed on Mark in terms of both manpower and budget, however the game will be in a fully working state at some point and at that point, as I have stated previously, I will purchase the game at it's very reasonable price of £20. In my opinion, the game shouldn't be released until that point and this is my only contention.
Apologies if I came across as though I am slating SO5 - that was not my intent. I will only purchase something close to the finished article irrespective of how little it may cost though.

No computer/console game is the finished article when released. Many updates are needed for every game these days and if anything games from the big companies have more problems. I say just buy the game and play it. Get used to it and get a feel for it.

Couldn't agree more. I am having to play a solely flat game because combined schedule isn't sorted, but, I am enjoying it immensely. If anyone is waiting for the perfect article before purchase they're living in cloud cuckoo land. I tried owner mode and got fed up trying to make it work, but, I fully intend to return to it when its been tweaked sufficiently.

Twenty notes for this amount of enjoyment is a steal. Six pints or SO5 = No contest

Owner mode works great for me now since latest patches but as I said before you need to start a new game, at least in NH game anyway.
Follow my earlier post on how I do it.

Again, I only play the combined game.

Unbelievable!!! I just won 3 races at Cheltenham including the Gold Cup with one owner and GC winner got to rating of 180 and Owner emails me to take away his entire string of 24 horses saying they would be better served elsewhere. I am in deep shock, the trainer he sent them to has got 7 winners compared to my 34.

Which indicates that this game is still far from the finished article.
I would love to buy it SO5, I am really looking forward to it - I just get frustrated easily by these glitches and it would probably put me off to the point where I would either revert to SO4 or stop playing SO altogether :(

I don't see it as a reason not to buy SO5, it is not a glitch inmy opinion but just the way the game goes. These things do happen for real so I just put up with the bad as well as the good.

Unless the trainer was sleeping with the owner's wife, that wouldn't really happen in real life. Definitely a bug.

Unfortunately, if nobody plays the buggy games the bugs remain undetected and cant be fixed, so the only way to find all of the bugs is to play it, so not buying it in the hope it will fix itself is stupid. The reason mark doesn't pick the bugs up is because he is just one person with one style of playing.

But this isn't the whole game! It's only the owner's mode which is being difficult and the owner's mode is brand new. We all knew this, I know I've told you this before! I can't understand your problem, but it is very much your loss because you're missing out on a great game.

I was not complaining about it being a bug, just saying what happened. It still left me with 70 horses in stable so I classed it as thats life.
As for the Owner's wife I plead innocent,it wasn't me but not sure about the stable jockey.
Just play the game and have fun with it. Your life does not depend on it.
