Entries for the week.

Taran prefers good to soft so hoping for a reverse vs Matt this week :). Arani to continue good form? She has yet to show her best for the league.

Epsom Derby/Oaks are touch and go regardless of how much folk think my horses are good here. I still say Joe is the man to beat having cracked 2:30 way before I ever did on Epsom and he breeds horses FOR Epsom whilst I tend to breed on Ascot CK trials.

Irish Guineas - after last weeks slow races hoping for a bit more pace but if not roll on week 5 when I can swap out all my 7/8f horses for some better suited to the league pace :).

2 year olds - Aganju to hopefully do something? He's the only horse in my stable rated under 100 and I'd love to see him pick things up though he was only 1 of 4 choices for the league (yes that's how poor my 2 year old stables are. Number of 2 year olds 60. Number of 3 year olds 750.) Hopefully Lassair wins a race. The other thing I'd love to see if possible is to have every horse win a race at least once through the season. 10/20 have won a race. 4 have placed but need maiden wins. 1 out of the places completely and 1 unrun at this stage.

Other aims. Can the horses continue the win rate of 51% (18/35) and in the money rate of 89% (31/35 - 1 pulled up with injury and subsequently won her G2 at next time of asking)?

EDIT

Slight changes to entries. Hatasa has taken the place of Domnu in the Temple Stakes and Aebhel is running in the Rock and Roll Sprint

Well i'll start with my Guineas entry Bob Dylan. Hoping for pretty much the same again if hes still in front at the 2 pole I know he'll stay right to the line again and may take some passing. But should there be an honest pace then the better horses may shine through.

Tilly Tom And Tiny goes in the locking, after a good maiden win, was then second in a group 2 on dirt at meydan which may not of suited should go well and hoping to place.

Maximum Triumph goes in the Epsom oaks after a promising debut over 1m2f which was better than id hoped for, should improve dramatically with an extra 2 furlongs ahead. 1st-3rd hopefully

Dylan Thomas im not really sure of his ideal distance I thought there was nothing to lose in trying him over 1m4f. But is not a guaranteed start and I may look to wait until ascot for a handicap.

Then theres the rest in the irish guineas I run Tom Thumb she's been crying out for a step up in trip and a mile will suit a lot better however I don't know if she has the class to finish close enough to trouble the judge in this race and the main reason for running here is to get a truer handicap mark over her ideal as there just haven't been enough races for a yard that has many milers to mile and a quarter horses.

Armageddon steps up 7f which may be a furlong too far but will improve if staying and may go close off this mark
Nympho 1m6f not sure he'll stay and may be one for a handicap at ascot.
Black Ops Completely unknown looked as if he needed further last time. But this step up 4fs and steeply in class may struggle.
Getting Fed Up 1m handicap was a let down in the Lincoln and meets a few here on similar terms, would hope for a good show here but not too confident this time hope for a nice surprise
Morning Coffee National stakes tie the rest together and this may spring a surpise no chance.
Expelliarmus Runs in the Prix ganay and disappointed a little bit so hoping a slightly longer trip may help hopeful of finishing closer this time.
Catetonia 7f maiden not sure what to expect not too hopeful though

6 group 1 entries and maybe 2 that don't really have any chance. Much better than id hoped at the start of the season

Here are my flat runners this week if anyone's interested:

Race 9: Coronation Cup: 1m4f: Oak Honduran Crystal: He has been running so well I thought I'd take the plunge and enter my first horses into Group 1's in the league. Much like last week the course won't suit as he likes to come from the back and ideally it's a furlong or two too short. I'll be gutted if he finishes down the field because I think he's really quite good, but he's against some very stiff competition on a course that really doesn't suit his running style. The ground will suit well.

Race 13: Prix Ganay: 1m2.5f: Oak Crystal Lodge: He finally gets to step up in trip, but this is also a huge step up in class. This could be too far for him, especially on the soft ground; there wasn't another race for him so I decided to give it a go. Hopefully he'll show he can compete in group races. If not then hopefully he can be dropped a pound or two in the ratings so his life is a bit easier in handicaps.

Race 17: Zetland Gold Cup Handicap: 1m2f: Oak Suffolk Crystal: Ran 6th over 1m2f last week, she has been highly rated, but the ground won't be a worry. Providing some of the horses rated in the 100's stay in then she'll have a copeable weight to carry, if they come out then she could struggle.

Race 24: Fabi Dosi Handicap: 1m6f: Oak Crystal Currency: The G/S won't be a worry but this is a step up in class. He still has a nice rating so I'd be hopeful that he can run well again, maybe even win. York will suit with its long straight. NAP

Race 27: Red Skies Handicap: 1m: Oak Charlie Wolf: He's been desperate for the mile and he ran really well over 7f last week when 4th in the Victoria Cup. I would be slightly concerned about his ability to stay on up the Sandown hill, but he isn't too high in the handicap yet so hopefully he can bring home some more place prize money; maybe even some win prize money!

The Curragh takes no prisoners. Expect the races to change dramatically inside the last furlong. I still think both Guineas are wide open but neither will be won by a front runner imo.

The Derby is Tatosi's to lose. Looking at the entries pace wont be a problem which gives me some hope with It Brasher as he needs an end to end gallop at Epsom to have any chance. Add to that some trouble in running for others and I could win. Its more likely I finsih 2nd or 3rd depending on how Bonduba does once the challengers come. I do however fancy It Brasher in week 6 when he runs in the Irish Derby. Again front runners will struggle and I feel the track could nullify Tatosi's raw speed.

The Oaks will be all about position. Ya Filly wont have the tactical pace and will be 3rd or 4th at best. Celebrate has a massive chance at Epsom. I expect her to set a steady pace and then free wheel down the hill. If Yima is close enough 4f out and the jockey doesn't sit too long then she should win. But thats a fair few ifs and buts. Id bet 5/4 each of two, 14/1 bar. Great figures but a hard race to win on as a bookie!

I give Amordab a big chance in the Coronation. It would be great to have another new trainer win a G1. Again a front runner who could well nick it from the front. I hope whoever rides High Hopes doesn't get caught out. Those from the back have no chance imo

I have 13 entries this week, going to pick out a few that i think could go well:

Race 10: Totesportcasino.com Handicap SEVENTEEN TRACKS rated 102

Second highest rated horse in the race (currently), may suffer from carrying heavier weight, but seems to like the slightly shorter distance and is on its favourite ground. I expect a minor placing.

Race 13: Prix Ganay ACOMB WONDER rated 99

One of my favourites in game, the extra half furlong will help, but would have preferred better ground, may struggle in this class, going to stick my neck on the line and predict a 6th placed finish.

Race 14: Edinburgh Cup Handicap HEAVEN AINT CLOSE rated 85

Was hampered last time out when finishing 8th, may catch a couple of higher rated runners out when carrying a lower weight, targeting minor placings.

Race 25: Opinion Poll Handicap ON THE RUN rated 81

Better ground should help, and will improve on last run, will challenge late on, though may fade in final furlong, targeting top 3 place.

Race 29: Rock n Roll Sprint EMERALD FIRE rated 96

Will improve over another furlong second time out, though it will be over the 7f next week in the Buckhimgham Handicap that he runs to his best, will enjoy the firmer ground.
Probably mid table in classy company this week

Yes, I expect to be putting him up another stone at least SuperCat, how on earth did you get him to run last first time?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I was hoping for a stint at the Ebor, obviously you have other ideas in mind! I don't know why he ran so badly, he was a really strong stayer in the CK and was beaten by Oak Honduran Crystal almost every time up to 1m6f but was never beaten from 1m7f+. I can't believe how badly he bombed in the last half a mile, if I thought he was going to be best over 1m6f I would have run him in the 1m5f maiden in week 2, but I thought he'd be a better stayer. I only uploaded him because I thought he'd be a good horse for races like the Northumberland Plate, while Honduran Crystal would be aimed at the 1m6f handicaps. How wrong was I?! :?

He ran wide first time and although it doesn't seem much not many horses win by travelling wide the whole race in the racekit. Could still win the Ebor off 90 imo

Such a bad week the only hope I was hangin onto was Tilly Tom and Tiny who was passed in the last 100 yards.
A bad display from Bob Dylan In the guineas that just isn't his running I know there were better horses in the race last week but I don't think hes that much worse than the field.
And most of the others will head to ascot in handicaps where hopefully I may get a winner or 2 well I can hope

First Group 1 winner with Opal Son taking the 1000 Guineas. Tight finish but nice to come through.

Disappointed with Polar Calatagan in the Coronation Cup but Epsom is another fast course and doesn't suit. The winner led from start to finish and i think he'll be better at Ascot.

Rookie season and solidifying my place near the top of the trainers champs (on earninga at least).

Glad i don't have many 3yos with AKHC's cleaning up.

With a G1 winner on flat and NH it's been a good week.
