Since there are no All Weather Championship races this week, thought I would do something similar for Royal Ascot. Same points scoring system, 10 for a win, 6 for second, 4 for third, 2 for fourth and 1 point for 5th. Watch this space.... Feel free to leave any predictions. |

Here are the standings for leading trainer after 2 days at Royal Ascot....and your eyes are not deceiving you....neither Josh or Vinny are leading!! Mind you I don't think I can keep it up, I only have 2 runners on day 3 compared to their 6. But you never know...should be a mighty tight finish either way. Paul Parsons............. 75 Joshua Sutherland.....74 Vinny Gerard.............66 Ash Munas................38 Darren Thompson......35 Stu Grey...................34 Nick Driver................33 Dan Hughes..............29 Paul Rhodes..............27 Derek Hinton.............27 Daniel French............24 Martin Leedham.........22 David Hooley.............18 David Robertson........14 Obi Wan...................14 Matt Cooper..............12 Alex Cherie................5 Danger Steve.............4 Grayham Clutterbuck...1 |

Sure I always struggle at Royal Ascot compared to the relative season. No idea why. All bread to be ok there, but I guess everyones are to be fair |

I never trailled for any races on the flat, always wanted the fair courses that gave every horse a chance. I think I might be different to everyone on that score. |

I use it still for sprint an milers. I use York now for most other distances. I'm gonna try an add Newcastle in for a bit of dirt trials at some point too. I only switched to York after this season started though. So technically all these should be bred for Ascot I guess |

And the winner is.... Joshua Sutherland......93 Vinny Gerard.............90 Paul Parsons.............79 Ash Munas................50 Darren Thompson......47 Martin Leedham........40 Daniel French............36 Stu Grey...................34 Nick Driver................33 Derek Hinton.............31 Dan Hughes..............29 Paul Rhodes..............28 David Hooley.............25 David Robertson........16 Matt Cooper...............16 Obi Wan....................14 Grayham Clutterbuck..13 John Morgan...............7 Alex Cherie.................5 Danger Steve..............4 Well done Josh, another honour heading your way...hard to believe though that after 3 days of racing it came down to the last race that you and Vinny had runners in - the Diamond Jubilee Stakes...and that another trainer would win that race and ultimately decide the destiny of the top trainer. I hope that provided some extra interest to Royal Ascot week. I plan to do similar for the Cheltenham Festival. |
