Post Quick Start Guide for Newbies
Seen Alot of posts about a Newbies Guide to getting started in SO6 so thought i would throw a quick guide together while
im waiting of Patch 14

If you like to play the game slowly and realistically this guide is not for you.

Or If you are like me and want to get breeding your own stars as soon as possible this will be right up your street.

1) Start a New Game - On the first day of the season inspect the horses that are given to you.
I just started a new game for this walkthrough and look this is one of the horses given to me at the start

Image

This really is a rarity and i recommend selling all of the horses at the start unless you get something that looks decent like the above.
The Priority at the start is to get money ASAP so once you sell your start up horses you should have between £2 to £3 Million.

2) More Money -This is still not enough money to get started so once you have sold your horses at start save game
then load it again go racing look through the results and look for 2 horses to be clear from rest of field example below.

Winner 4 lengths ahead of 2nd and 2nd 3 lengths ahead of 3rd bigger the prices the better (write down the names of the 2 horses)
CTRL ALT DEL to shut down SO6 re load the game go racing again and go to the race that you wrote the 2 names down from
Now click on the 1st horse and then the 2nd horses both should now be on a betting slip then do a reverse forecast and put all of
your money on it (This will take a bit of time)

Image

8 times out of 10 your forecast bet will come up and you should end up with 10 to 30 million in cash depending on the odds of the
2 horses (if it does not come up CTRL ALT DEL and try again)

3) What to do with your dosh - Ok so now should have a balance in the tens of millions first job to do is buy all upgrades
then hire a jockey and apprentice name farm just a general bit of housekeeping.

Now we need to go shopping we have the cash now lets splash a bit go to the Auction Every Thursday Buy any 2 year old
with a reserve of £750,000 or above in these weekly auctions you can find group winners and even G1 winners its a pain
but go every week until the end of season 1 you will at some stage find something great. (You can also track
the top ten horses on the top horses list but this is a pain because you get loads of emails)

4) End of 1st Season - Once you go through the 1st season hopefully you will have found a couple of decent horses
retire these horses to stud you will need them next season

Then End the season and then go to the 2yo sale Bid and Buy Any 2yo that has a reserve over £700,000
you will end up buying 5 - 15 2yo (Maybe More) BUT In My experience you get the better horses in the weekly (Thursday)
Auction compared to the end of season 2yo sales but you can find a real gem in the end of season 2yo sale and it is worth buying

5) Start Of Season 2 - Inspect your 2yo's and if any look decent send straight to stud with the horses you (Hopefully Bought in Season 1)
Sell the rest of the 2yo that you purchased that are no good you should get back what you paid for them.

6) Breeding Ok so hopefully by now you have a few nice horses in the barn what you want to do is to inspect
the horses in the barn that you DON'T own I only use the mares or stallions that cost over £200,000 or the ones that have won 5 +
G1 races in the game So get your owned Stallions to cover the best Gamebred Mares and get the best Gamebred Stallions to cover your owned Mares Breed the best with the best.

So your breeding operation has begun and you should get some really nice 2yo in a couple of seasons in a few seasons
you wont have to go to the sales by then you will have built up some nice stock and after about 5 or 6 seasons you wont even
need the gamebreds in the breeding barn and you will start to produce horses that start to dominate.

Hope this has been helpful dont hesitate to ask any questions

Fine work for new-comers PJ. As always a fine help to the SO community.

Cold Turkey has beneficial effects on some people. :)

Very nice guide, if you start with easy on sell the 5 horses at the first auction then you will get just over 1mil then take it from there.

I retain an apprentice as he takes weight off horses in maidens and handicaps
