When I maxed out the potential, they would win well in incredible times, when I maxed out the extra speed rating they break the matrix.

My breeding was based on that in SO 5 but I'm not sure it's that simple, when everyone made available the best horses at the end of SO 5 I was interested in Steve's and Paul's 1m4 furlong horses and I was surprised that my horses had better burst and speed bars but were slower horses.

Have a look at two of my horses, Dublin Flyer had much better bars but turned out to be a decent h'capper but Greenbank Park was a champ in the league and was a much better horse in my trials.

Iv played 35 seasons & cant get a better than 95% potential 2 year old! I can churn them out no problem..... but just cant get the full 100% at 2. Any tips would be welcome guys?

Funny enough even though my two year olds are better now my potential has fallen back a little to around 95% so I'm having to back to some of my older 2yo's to improve. Sadly there's no magic trick to get almost 100%. I'd say keep a eye on 2yo's gamebreds and when the good ones retire bred with them, u might get lucky.

started to think max potential isn't as important as we have been led to believe this is the best 2yo I have ever seen in any of the SO series (and ive seen more than I should have) regardless of the settings and he doesn't look anything special never seen anything like him ingame

You mean when you "hex" the extra speed rating you broke the matrix.

I maxed out the milers and 1m4 horses so went on to sprinters and stayers
i have now got them to full bar 3yo and with decent stats taken a while to set them up
have had to start from scratch with them

heres my 4 time Melbourne cup winner and a decent sprinter

Yes, thats what I was implying.

Maxing the extra speed rating had more of an effect than maxing the potential.

I must be thick but how do you improve the potential and speed bars?

Paul This was my first long distance 3yo full bar, I've not breed any 3yo since and this was late august. Paul getting stayers on the flat is harder than so 5 but getting long distance jumpers is even harder.
