Thanks for the reply.

I am on patch 0.983. I have tried even reducing the maximum field sizes to 16 but I still get a range from 140 to 90 rated horses and it is really disappointing then I try and have what I think is a handicap plot with a horse rated 120 but when I make the entry it is one of the top weights!

I have given up on the jumps game in so6 and gone back to playing so5 which I find much more enjoyable. I just feel apart from the graphics nothing has improved on this side of the game but actually declined. I found no realism to it at all big handicaps such as, the Greatwood, Ladbroke, Hennessy, Imperial Cup, Betfair Hurdle and most handicaps at Cheltenham festival just to name a few are just littered with 90 rated rubbish and it just annoys me. I have tried increasing the game pool and this just dilutes it even more.

I seem to be the only one bothered by this so have put it down to me being fussy!

Dave u must use the preps.

I just added 4 preps for the greatwood and this was the field.

Not a bad looking field.

Cheers mate hadn't thought of that. Out of interest which races did you use to prep that race? Is it possible to prep on the schedule editor?

Yes u can use that. My game is different from other people's, my greatwood is at the end of the season.

For the greatwood u can use the season's before races( mark said it works on this game) like the swinton the Scottish champion hurdle the county hurdle and perhaps even put in the supreme novice hurdle. If I was u I'd prep all the big h'caps to u taste even use graded races.

I prepped the Gerry Field ( nov26) with races from the year before.

This was the field.

Wigman Lady won the Supreme
Roofer and Deeves was 1st+2nd in 4yo anniversary
Violette won the Swinton
Odalisque+ Done finished 2nd+ 3rd in the county.

So it works.

Cheers for the advice mate have prepped a lot of the big races and seems to have made the fields much more competitive. I have played around with the game pool size and have it at about 6000 as I found by making it too high the races become more diluted. The only problem with this is I notice that quite a few horses will sometimes run in as many as 3 races at the Cheltenham festival.

Finding it much more enjoyable now the only one thing I would say is that I do feel novice hurdlers ratings are too low sometimes winning the supreme I only get a mark of 140 (unbeaten season) and many of the other runners are in the 120's or lower. I think this filters through and is why there a lot of lowly rated horses especially hurdlers.

Thanks again

Dave
