 GAME BREEDS
Is it just me or is it much harder to find Game Bred Group 1 winners in the Thursday Auctions. SO5 I would find at least 3-4 monsters a season or 2. S06 I'm yet to find one in the first 8 seasons of my current save. I have only just purchased the game last weekend.
Am I just in a game that might not be selling these horses or this is the hardness of the game this time around ?

 Re: GAME BREEDS
I haven't played a huge amount of SO6 yet, but I've noticed the same thing. Unless we're both just unlucky, I think for sure less G1 horses are being auctioned on a thursday than in SO5. I have basically given up on trying to buy G1 horses from the weekly auctions for now.

Sabella - Where do you find future up coming horses from, do you just buy something from thursday auctions and hope for the best, or are the 2 yo sales at beginning of the year, more hopefully than SO5 was ???

 Re: GAME BREEDS
The most reliable way I've found to discover upcoming horses is to restart the game on easy mode over and over until one of your starting horses has a full or near full potential bar. Then sell off your others and race that horse until the end of the season. If you like the horse, retire it to game pool at end of season and keep doing that until you build up a pool of potentially good horses, import them six per season into your main game and breed from there.
I'm not sure who initially shared the idea to do this? Someone on the forums here, but it's definitely the only way I've managed to get my breeding program off the ground.

 Re: GAME BREEDS
I have notice this in both codes the jumps horses for Auction and even the Auction for new horses at the beginning are really bad you can't get a good horse I think this has been implemented in the game I would suggest keep your eyes on selling or claimers and if you can get a Schedule that has been has mods with sellers and claimers and are showcase Races the Quality of horses in these races are far better and more likely to have group horses running in them.

 Re: GAME BREEDS
There's an icon in the horse screen when searching for game breds that allow u to keep an eye on this horse if it becomes available for auction you will get an email from your staff.. i'm yet to see this happen !! the difficulty level finding G1 horses has gone to the extreme.

 Re: GAME BREEDS
Glad someone else has found this as well. Couldn't believe the utter rubbish that comes through. Never used to be like this in previous versions. Feel certain this game has lost something in this regard. Really feel it should be tweaked back. In particular I'm referring to the UK combined version played as bought with no outside mods etc. Even the main 2 yr old auction in April rarely seems to throw up a decent horse., again unlike in previous versions. If like me you guys cant afford to own breed train horses part of the joy of the fantasy is in getting a decent horse !!!

Am I just in a game that might not be selling these horses or this is the hardness of the game this time around ? I play on easy mode owner/trainer - and I have found game bred Group One winners in the Thursday sales - maybe only one or two a season but they are there. Occasionally 3yo's but usually 4 or 5yo's. I have bought a few and they have gone on with the job and won again at Group One level. (besides the couple of 3>5yo horses at auction - there are older Group One winners for auction every year as well but I only like to buy the younger horses so I can race them for x-years to A - win back the purchase money and B - make sure they really are top notch Group One horses.) I race on the Australian tracks and have SO6.

Gray Hi Gray what is the process to claim a horse from another trainer? Can you also obtain a horse from selling races? Does it actually work in SO6? Thanks

 Re: GAME BREEDS
Any horse that wins a claiming race or selling race will be in the auction at the end of that day

 Re: GAME BREEDS
I've also noticed that in the breeding barn, every new season, there seems to be more Fillies and Mares in the Barn rather than the Monster Colts and Stallions you're hoping to pop up to breed with, I'm not complaining about the hardness of the challenge as it keeps me interested in the game, but I'm thinking that this edition has become a lot more harder to find those Gems of a horse.
