Post Good in SO6
Sorry, very lat to look at SO6 but thats because of SO5. Just wondering if any improvements in the race mechanic since SO5. Particularly the missing the break and boiling over, which destroyed SO5 and made it unplayable or at least unenjoyable. You could send 6 horses to a meeting, all normal or good starters and normal temperament only to find that 4 missed the break and 2 boiled over. Totally unrealistic and moronic programming. Anyway, want to gine SO6 a go but not if this hasnt been addressed.

Honestly cmlnine I am laughing my lungs out here reading this bull dropping, sorry, but what a loud your delivering this morning mate, I still play so5 from time to time and I never had the problems your talking about, "boiling over"!! " missing the break"!! have you ever gone to the races? trained a horse? please don't come back and say you have, because you don't sound like you have seen a horse in your life if you want to come on here and post like this.
Mate in real life horses get upset at the races some go back home without even racing the poil over, they stress out, many of us punters lose our money because of that, go and buy SO6 mate and stop posting silly billy nonsense on here please every SO series that mark has created have been a world wide hit but to make it better, SO6 in a universal beauty. you know something cmlnine!! I some times think that mark loveday is an alien he gets it so right.

PS. Go buy it cmlnine, you will love it, like the rest of us on here.

Just to respond to Tomas, I get it mate, I was doing a fair bit of whinging. Lets go for some examples though, horses that boil over in real racing frequently do that, however horses that dont frequently dont do it. There are far more who dont than do. In SO5 everything boils over at some point even those with good temprement and at a far higher rate than I would suggest in reality. As for the break missing, better horses rarely miss the break and if they do slightly they recover quickly. Lets take the best there's been as an example. Frankel never missed the break and never boiled over in 19 races. That cannot happen in SO5. There are a large number of examples of horses that have never done either in their entire careers and plenty nowhere near Frankel in stature. My point was, albeit in very moaning manner I accept, that the game does not in my opinion reflect this. And my irritation was down to situations like the one I described where you take 6 or 7 horses to a meeting, all good or better starters with normal or laid back dispositions and 5 miss the break and the other 2 are stressed or boiled over. Also, I didnt even mention the boxing in. I know that is probably difficult to program but also unrealistic. My original question stands, has there been any changes to these things in SO6.

I wouldn't call it boiling over but Frankel did not settle at all well in the St James Palace stakes
which nearly cost him the Race Zoffany closing in fast and Frankel's tank was empty because he wouldn't settle
SHC was worried about his temperament early on but got it sorted

Some of the AI has improved so jockeys are a bit more intelligent. I don't recall complaints about horses boiling over or missing the break so I can't really comment. With the missing the break are they visibly missing it when you watch the race or are the comments in running/jockey saying missed break? There are some generic comments that can be ignored, like 'the horse could have settled better' which seems to apply to every and all horses in the jumps game and makes no difference to the performance of the horse in the race.

to say frankel never missed the break is laughable in both of his last 2 races he was slow away maybe by design at York in the juddmonte nut certainly not in the champion stakes where he gave away 4 lengths to the 2nd best horse in the world at the time on official ratings I believe........PJ is right as well he was very headstrong in his early career and could easily have lost the st james palace due to overracing....not meaning to be rude but an uneducated comment and im sure if the game lacked semblances of real life racing you would complain about that as well mark is damned either way with you it seems
