Post More funds to buy and bet with.......
Great game, but one thing that bothers me is that I get halfway through a season and after stupidly losing all my money betting and selling my horses for the sake of having a bet, I can't get any more money to buy horses or bet with etc...

I know it's my fault for betting, but not being able to bet or buy horses takes away my interest in the rest of the season ---so I start another......and so it goes on and on.

Maybe there could be a patch that would enable the player to be able to get more funds?.

I'm sure there are other frustrated players who feel the same way.....or is it just me?.

There's a few ways to get money. Some are considered cheating, though. The two below are more legitimate ways to get money that's not cheating.
1.) Buy cheap horses at the weekly auction, get their rating up a bit, resell them for a profit. Sell your starting horses if needed to help buy some horses.
2.) Take out a loan on the finance screen (probably your best bet at this point if you money is too low to do much).

This one's considered cheating by some, but meh. This is multi-stepped.
-Save the game.
-Go to the races.
-Note down what horses won. Best bet is to only note horses that win by 3+ lengths. If you see none, then just save on the next day of races and repeat until you see like 2 or 3 horses that win by a fair margin. The larger the margins, the better your chances the horse will win the race consistently each time you reload the day.
-Force close the game. This part's important. Don't close it the normal way. Either hit the red X in the top right hand corner (if you play in windowed mode) or use the task manager to force close the game. This way you can restart the day over.
-Reload the game and go to the races.
-Bet everything on the horses who won by the largest margins the last time. If needed, get an auto clicker program like "Auto Clicker by Shocker" to save your finger and/or mouse. If you lose all of your money because the horse you thought would win lost instead, just force quit and try again. If a horse that won the first time consistantly loses after that, then change which horse you bet on or just skip that race.
-Repeat as needed.

I do the same method to ensure my mares are all bred by the end of the year. Some seasons, I have a really annoying pair (or more) that just won't breed. Since it might be my last attempt for the season and I have little interest in losing the chance, especially if it's with a top stallion or mare, I just close out and reload until it's a success.

Back in SO1-SO4, you could use cheat engine or artmoney to cheat your money, but now you can't. The loan system was added to compensate. Funny thing is, you could still cheat your stable slots in SO5 using cheat engine. I had to buy maybe 2-3 stalls before finding the right value to get me the rest for free. Haven't bothered with that in SO6 due to Mark adding in the ablity to upgrade your stalls all in one go, but chances are it might still work. I figured that out because I wasn't clicking a button to buy stalls 94 times. I'm not killing my mouse.

Honestly, I tend to do the cheating method since I care little for making money. While I don't play the league, I just want to get into the "meat" of the game. If there was perhaps a story element to the game related to progression with win or fail conditions, maybe I might care more. I start a new game, and first thing I want to do is get a nice bank account. After that, I upgrade my stable and try to get breeding started before the end of the year. By my third or fourth year, I have my own 2yos. I'm a cheater. I'll admit it. Only games I don't cheat in are online multiplayer ones and that's only because I know it effects other players, too. With single player games or games where there's optional (and avoidable) multiplayer such as SO6, I cheat all I want. I see SO6 as a bit of a sandbox since there's no story to it (you can play until year 9999+ if you want), and in sandboxes, I just want to toy with everything available.

With that said, might be interesting to see a story mode in SO7 that has various events such as catching the attention of a top owner who will give you a chance with their horses and you build up a friendship with them, but at the same time you also make enemies. You can also befriend or alienate jockeys via events which could change how much they want per ride/win and even if they'll accept a mount from you. Some other events (although not really fun) might be barn fires, floods, tornadoes, and event injuries that could be tied to a horse or even to a jockey. Perhaps even events like a trainer offering you one of their horses or offering to take one of your horses until the end of the season (they revert back next season). Things that basically get you to interact more with trainers, owners, jockeys, and even the horses. Trainer mode is a start, but it's not really a story mode.

I've just been thinking about your post. Maybe another way to build a bank would be to race your horses a few times and keep which horses are going to win Listed races and sell the rest.
(or just sell the lot and punt like a mad man)
Now start watching and following the form of the horses running in Group 1 and 2 races - there is always at least one freak running that wins most in a season - max' bet - win only or each way.
Betting in Group races gives you maximum return. All you need is 10 winning Group bets and you should bank a tidy mill'.
If you do this for 5 to 10 seasons (which shouldn't take long) you should have a tidy bank to buy a few blue bloods at the auction and enough left over to make something favourite in the next race :-)

Also if you have a Listed horse that does ok/well in that company - notch it up to Group 3 or 2 races for two or three runs then drop it back to Listed or an appropriate rated handicap race (forget handicaps rated 100 or above) chances are you're going to get 10/1 or much better - plonk that donkey - and count your bikkies at the end of the race :-)

Easiest way I found was to own a horse that was capable of winning listed races or better (Rating 100+), then drop it into a claimer with 5 runners or less at it's optimal distance, then back all the other runners (Should all be 66/1) in reverse forecasts, Take The Reins of your own horse and just keep it out of the first 2, the forecast £2000 reversed makes over £6 million with 2 66/1 shots 1st and 2nd.
