Still getting my head around dropbox - especially messaging lol. Can't wait to start doing comms at a more reasonable hour lol

 Re: TRIAL FLAT RACES VIDEOS
My thoughts.
I think each vid needs to show the race field card just before the jump and briefly at the end of the race. I believe before the race gives the chance for the trainers to make sure they are watching the right race for their horse and for me to just pause the vid and practice the runners names (sorry for any mispronunciations).
At the end of the race it gives all trainers a chance to see just where their horse/s finished and to a lesser thing - I can quickly read out the place getters.
Besides that I think it's good how each 'race runner' has their own style/angles and I think we should keep that unless the people voice a preference to a particular camera angle etc.
FINALLY - was my audio file loud enough or does the level need to be higher?

 Re: TRIAL FLAT RACES VIDEOS
Doug your audio was fine don't worry if you come across races which have audio in I can easily disable it in Windows Movie Maker before adding your Com.

Agree card before and after race is needed. Thanks to everyone; for Gray for organizing and the race runners and commentators for putting the time in.

 Re: TRIAL FLAT RACES VIDEOS
Apologies for not showing the race field at the start of the race and results screen at the end. I had the space bar mapped as the start/stop recording hot key for something unrelated to SO6 and completely forgot about changing it to something better for the races It will be sorted for when the league starts. I wasn't expecting much from my flat runners and was very surprised to see Green Bay finish in the places. Sonic Boom ran quite well considering he didn't have the best of runs and Big Port did ok from an outside draw in the 2yo race.

 Re: TRIAL FLAT RACES VIDEOS
Honestly - I think I can do quite a few race calls - the secret is to download the race video from dropbox - the picture improves out of sight from the dropbox file. I was using new audio software last night but I am all over it now. Gray - wasn't sure if you could put my audio over the AI comms so I played safe - so thanks for the heads up. Cheers all - it was fun and it should become quicker and smoother for all of us from here. Doug

 Re: TRIAL FLAT RACES VIDEOS
Problem with large fields at courses can't be fixed this will have to be done by the game makers I just trialed a Race at Newmarket we all know in real life how wide the course is I had 21 runners and one horse was running through the ground at Newmarket a Flat Straight Mile course you even get this at Ascots straight mile with huge fields.

Gray In the League can we at least limit the field to 16 or 18 runners max? Lets face it in real life you never get big fields in the flat.

Gray It might be u game, I run trials with 25 without any problems at newmarket. I tried 40 runner races and they were all fine. And I tried 40 at ascot also fine, probably get another 5 in.

Some of the courses should have a max of around 16, like the tracks in US and Brighton. Not enough room on them. The straight sprint races can have 30 plus but the longer the race the less runners there should be.

 Re: TRIAL FLAT RACES VIDEOS
The rules are that group 1's are limited to 16 runners, lowest handicaps falls out. Its been like that for 3 seasons Handicaps limited to 30 but this will change as Ascot and Newmarket can run with fields of 40 so races like the Wokenham and Cambridgeshire can have bigger fields and these races can mimic reality and have big fields.
The rules have worked fine for the last 3 seasons so need to change anything. It is also automated in Tom and I don't have time to start changing handicap and group 1 code in Tom.
I'm prepared to bend rules for certain races like Wokenham as it will require manually adding stuff in sql to circumvent the Tom checks

 Re: TRIAL FLAT RACES VIDEOS
We know the first week or two with Maidens on the flat will be big fields if we get a lot of trainers joining we will get big fields we can't spilt every race unless its over 30 runners we can't limit the field size except Group 1 which is limited to 16 runners and any over 16 we cut the lowest in ratings from the field.
