Post Re: League Weekly reaction
really enjoyed my first week in the league big thanks to everyone involved.

very happy that I managed to get off the mark in the NH with a winner and 3 second places. not as good on the flat with mainly middle of the pack finishes but wasn't expecting much from any of my horses so very happy with this weeks results. hopeful of a few handicap wins throughout the season.

Very fun first week of the league!!
I had soooo much success (yayy to all of those bottom 5 finishes...). I finally got my first Top 10 finish in a league race on Wednesday so that was fun!

I look forward to the handicaps (maybe I have a chance...) and I'm excited to help call some of the races starting with this coming week!

Post Re: League Weekly reaction
My best flat day today.

Lady of the Desert 1 - I thought she might be my weakest horse in my team, so nice to get a win.

Zafonic 2 - Came from last to finish second, hopefully more to come though his running style might not be suited to the league.

Reference Point 1 - Has become a star, his running style is suited to the league even if he's not one of my best over this distance.

Allegreto 2 - Was seven wide all race hopefully gets a better trip next time.

Laila Alwai 2 - My half bred almost won a race, fantastic performance. Hopefully he can win one for his dad.

Jumps

Queensway Boy 2 - A fine second to grays horse, should have a good season.

Ansar 5 - I thought he was disappointing hopefully better to come.

Chomba Womba 0 - Ran a shocker, will be h'capped better now though.

Rogers Princess 1 - A lovely performance, will only run on better ground.

Bellator 1 - Jumped very poorly but still won some how.

Overall I'm over the moon with my jump horses, didn't think they were that good. Even if there wasn't a league I still would have played the jumps game because I really enjoy playing it.
My flat team was a mix bag, the 6 furlong horses all ran well but my 5 furlong team was awful. A few of my team might not be League horses due to the way they run. Get too far behind. After week one I think a top 5 on the flat looks about my horses ability.

Justoneforfortheroad never landed a blow in the 4 miler and was pulled up as was King of the Roses who was just starting to get interested before his jockey stopped him. I'm hoping for something better next time!

Quick rundown of the first 2 days.

Flat
Most of them out of their depth and just getting a rating but have managed a 5th and 2 6ths which is top notch for me. One of the 6ths was with a gamebred (leger trial) so that really suprized me. If there is a listed gamebred race over 1m4f to 2m then he will take some beating.

Jumps
Most of them were just thrown in to get some runners and ran appallingly but managed to get a winner!!! My first ever week 1 winner in race 14 3m1f hurdle with a gamebred. As others have said it is possible to be competitive with gamebreds over the jumps, at least over the longer distances. I will try him over fences as well soon as he is probably just as good at that, but may need further, stayed 4 miles in game.
I did notice a few very odd incidences of horses pulling up whilst still in contention, my main national horse did it 3 out in race 16 but it should help his handicap mark; I did tell the jockey to go easy  :)

Darren congrats on u winner that is one tough horse. He will need to be good over fences because he's certainly a very good hurdler.

U beat my horse, I knew u shouldn't have fixed that computer of yours.

Thank you John.
I feel sorry for our Australian commentator (who does a fantastic job) when it comes to your horse, I hope he has some Irish ancestry!

Darren it's not one of those odd names, it's Shuil ar eyeg. Doug if u need help with my 3m hurdler Shuil Ar Aghaidh look up the 1992 CORAL GOLDEN HURDLE FINAL HANDICAP on youtube. U will hear the great/greatest peter o'sullevan say it.

I'm old enough to remember the horse John, didn't it also run very well in the stayers hurdle?

Just googled it, won the race in 93.

She was class, that's why I named one of my 3 mile hurdlers after her, I wait for the best pairings and hopefully they turn out the best like her and my other 3 mile hurdler Rogers Princess.

We showing our age now.

Thanks for all the hard work from everyone involved. I started off shockingly in Week 1 and thought I was going to have to seriously overhaul my team but then had a few winners on Day 3 so lets see what happens. My stayer Aveiro won well so may be interesting in the stamina distances otherwise not sure about the others and Grade wins but you gotta be in it to win it :)

Ok first weeks thoughts the Flat stable is struggling but I knew it would a second place is the best I got hoping to get a winner at Epsom I think silk trader is better than he showed last week.
Now the Jumps a Great start 7 winners on the first week very impressed by Barry Island's win and looks like he might be on course for the champion Hurdle my chaser's are the best I have ever had with the surprise win of Royal Jim in the Novices chase I will be resting a few this week because I have a few making their debuts and mostly looking forward to Funky Princess debut in the Juvenile and hoping for a improved runs in a few I will be resting a few and I will also rest Spot The Difference who I feel will take a lot of beating in the Bumper's this season.
