 Re: League Weekly reaction
Hey trainer James Harrison. I was looking at your previous years performance and you always had a good in the money percentage. This year you are winning big time. Did you change anything up? Put much more time in or something? You are doing great.

 Re: League Weekly reaction
Quote: Mark - Is there any way to fix the game so that in a large field the ones widest out don't think the far outside rail is the best place to be? 5 horses ran on the outside rail turning for home. That is a bug. You need to report the course and distance where this happens. It is usualy one of two things. Where there is a straight course the correct distance is not accomodated (for example a 8f straight course may have the 8f start on the turning course). This is usualy because the finish post needs moving slightly. The other reason could be that the data file specifies a straight course length that is wrong.

 Re: League Weekly reaction
The course was Dubai and the distance was 9.5 furlongs. The field was 20 horses so there was a handful of horses who were parked wide going into the turn. Instead of cutting inside they headed for the outside rail.

 Re: League Weekly reaction
FLAT 3 x 5th places in Dubai, happy enough with that. Looks like I'm in the position of not good enough for G1's Or G2's, but horses rated too high to get into handicaps. Fantastic! Gonna struggle to get a winner on the flat I reckon.
NH Pocket Money, good 2nd place in a handicap, loved the way he ran from the front and put pressure on everyone's jumping. Morning Dip 4th and running on until unseated 2 out in the Charlie Hall, uncompleted in both starts surely he's got to be a good thing for a handicap off 100. Possibly Hennessy?
Other Observations: College Chapel - Absolute machine. Loved the ride from P Queally (Tom Queally's brother) on Shape Up in the DWC, need him on my horses.

This is why prize money is a better reflection of where trainers are than wins. I'm in the same position in the flat. Horses not good enough for Group 1's and too high for handicaps. The current schedule is designed for those at the top and those at the bottom, but prize money gave an accurate depiction of where you stood as a trainer and therefore worked fine in conjunction with schedule. Now the middling trainers will struggle this season to feature or compete with the top trainers

 Re: League Weekly reaction
I thought heading in to the season that my 6 furlong sprinters might be my best group, I had 4 Dayjur -Nuclear Debate- Elbio- College Chapel( none of them brothers) top class horses running against each in the trails. It's always good when they then work out like it.
Monashee 1 - She's not as good as last season's dirt horse but she's done something even ghostzapper couldn't do and that is to win in Dubai. On to the Derby.
Tapit 5 - Retirement awaits , been a disappointment. Perhaps he'll be like his namesake and be better in the the breeding barn than on track.
College Chapel 1 - Not bad for a horse that's never been on the dirt, not even in trials.
Keen Hunter 1 - Got a better start and could mix it with the front runners, will need to brake quick to mix it with the top sprinters from now on.
Vintage Crop 5 - Been a total flop, never been in any race. Unless he show's something before the window then Blackpool rather than Melbourne awaits u.
Mill Reef 8 - What a pain in the trainers arse u are, sack the trainer( running in the wrong race ) and the jockey for the ride( u cant win in the car park). For a horse with so much ability he's not produced yet but he's back home and he could still run well if he gets the brakes in the 2000.
And last but not least.
Laila Alaiwa 2 - Wowww what a performance from my Half bred, almost won a group 1 over the wrong trip. Hopefully she can win a race for her Dad. I thought there was no way a half bred could challenge in the league but she's been outstanding.
Jumps
Near Gale 5 - Didn't show to much but will be better on softer ground.
Barnbrook Again 3 - Jumped poorly but still ran well and also needs softer ground, not a bad first effort.
Shuil Ar Agaigh 1 - Until Christmas River turned up she was my best filly so it's good she's proved it on course, now that she's won a race she will go straight to the World Hurdle now.
Great Job by the commentators and the team, also well done Steve and James and all the other trainers. Also well done to the newbie Illyria for his horses performance in the Godolphin Mile.

 Re: League Weekly reaction
Completely agree with you Leon regarding prize money. I will always look at this table rather than just wins. Much fairer in my opinion. And that's from me who will likely get wins in low grade handicaps but not big place prize money

Ghost - Why is your Wetherby winner going straight to the festival? There other big 3m hurdle races before then. Auteuil, the long walk and Christmas hurdle at Leopardstown are all grade 1s I think

I think there should be a rule that if u horse has run in the first 3 or 4 of a group 1 then u cant run in Group3's or Listed races. Those races are for those rated animals.

I refused to run any of my horses in the big end of season H'caps because I believe those races are for H'cappers to win. Now that she's won a race ( I only ever want to win a/any race with my animals) her job is done and now she's put away until Cheltenham - Aintree- Punchestown. Last season my Best Horse Lo Stregone aim was the French races and he was unbeaten in two but I refused to enter him in the Biggest race the Gold Cup because that wasn't his aim. Im always just about last in runners for a season, not after wins just what's best for my horses. I hope u plotting one for the Festival.

 Re: League Weekly reaction
R2 - Swift Picura (11th) - Ran his race, just not good enough. R5 - Fatal Zeo (7th) - Just didn't have the speed to go with them! R6 - Power Ranger (9th) - Ran a monster race for 4 furlongs before the tank completely emptied. R10 - Flawless Victory (24th) - Being drawn in the car park at Epsom was a death warrant but wouldn't have got much closer regardless. Flat went as expected, but believe it could be a better day tomorrow.
NHC R3 - Guardian Of The Galaxy (6th) - Ran a monster race from the front and deserved prize money really. R4 - Robotnik (3rd) - very pleased with that run although gifted 3rd due to the unfortunate unseating at the last. R5 - Superstardeejay (9th) - genuinely thought he'd won that race at the furlong pole but like Power Ranger in Dubai the tank emptied in a split second! R8 - Juppy (14th) - awful performance well detached in last. R10 - Hot Miss (12th) - needs further, should improve for that. Reasonable day over the jumps with Robotnik looking useful and could be heading to the JLT.

I wish I could be in that situation I never really plot as such but towards the end of the season I focus on more preferable ground for my animals once they've got nice low marks. Hopefully that will be enough for a festival winner but I don't think I have much ammunition this season

 Re: League Weekly reaction
UKRA Meydan got off to a poor start for my team it was looking like the makings of a truely awful week then Pops up ZE LAWNMOWER and wins the Dubai Gold Cup even though his Jockey tried to throw the race at the end . Solid 4th from Red Brick Lane in the UAE Derby another 4th came courtesy of Ambassador Rocharde in the Sheema Classic. The rest of the Team had no shows this week but Delighted to win my first Group Race of the Season.
NHC OLIVER ELLINOUX got my week off to a flyer winning a Grade 3 smartly on debut Clattered the last but kept going to win well. Haffaway ran ok in the Mares Listed hurdle in 4th. Top Spin ran a cracker in 2nd in mares novice maiden chase. High Corrall ran ok in 4th a race he had a good shout at winning though.
All in all a good start to the week first Group/Grade wins in each code
Well done to all the winners and places Huge thanks to the team
Loved the Comms as always
Best of luck for the rest of the week
