 Re: League Weekly reaction
Are the NH Handicaps done by the game? Looking at some of the ratings after today's races and they don't look right lol... For example R5, winner goes from 116 to 106 while the 5th went from 100 to 107?!?! Although kudos to whoever is doing the flat ones, they look spot on.

 Re: League Weekly reaction
FlatLady Cat and Magic Marker ran ok at Dubai tho both were well beaten at the finish as expected. Not sure where either will go next as all depends on what mark they get. My "better" horses finished mid field in week 1 but ended up rated up to 105 which means they have to run in listed or group races or carry a big weight in handicaps. Same thing seems to happen every season. JumpsR1 Raffles (5th) - looked like being my first winner of the season til he banked the 2nd last still only lost by a length. R2 Sonic Boom (6th) - ran on well but was too far back to get into contention. combination of poor ride and trip being a bit short. R3 Hope Springs (12th) - better chaser and running here for a hurdles mark but got a shocker of a ride. I think someone got to the jockey and convinced him Ffos Las is a right handed track. R6 Hamburger Hill (7th) - solid effort tho don't think he really stayed. R7 Lucky Duck (7th) - good run but doesn't have the pace on good ground. she is much better on soft/heavy. R9 Dolly Peel (U) - running well when jockey jumped off at the 15th. Hennessy possible. R10 Big Port (4th) - ran well and almost got up for 3rd. extra furlong would have helped.

Gray had to change them in the first week, in one hurdle race the winner was rated 96. It's something that needs to be looked at next season.

Yeah I thought they were done by the game as they used to be, I don't mind filling in as a NH handicapper, I've got a little spare time to help out and can't imagine the handicapping being too much work in TOM etc.

The problem happens when there's no pace in the race, the computer doesn't have a clue then how to rate them. There's a horse who is well h'caped, I cant say who's it is until tomm but if that horse runs in any h'cap he would win.

 Re: League Weekly reaction
FLAT
Never expected much from my flat horses, only have 6 horses in my stable. Mostly concentrate on jumps. I have been pleasantly surprised with a couple of my flat horses.
R7 - Music Maker finished 6th in the Godolphin Mile. Never had the pace of the winner, but a nice run. He also had a 4th in a week 1 maiden.
R9 - Rainbow Warrior finished 5th in a h/cap race. He was one of the top weights and put in a decent performance.
Jumps
My 2 milers are doing well, the 2.5 milers are ok, but the longer distance horses are doing poorly. I found a good gamebred 2 miler about 8 generations ago and bred him extensively. I tried breeding some of his offspring with my best 2.5 mile mares but with mixed results. When I was trialling for the league my best 5 horses over 2.5 miles were all clones, so most of my runners over 2.5 miles are 2nd stringers. Never had a decent long distance horse to breed with.
R1 - Born to Run finished 4th. Thought he was in with a chance when he took the lead with a furlong to go, but a bad last jump just took the steam out of him.
R2 - Jubillee Boy finished 10th. I really thought he was going to be a superstar. Won a maiden in week 1, ( almost as good as a group race). He hit almost every fence and still managed to get round, but a big disapointment.
R3 - Marmalade Lass finished 2nd. She was the one clone of my 2.5 milers that made the team. Had too much to do with 3f to go but finished strongly.
R5 - Lighthouse Girl finished 1st in the Juvenile race. Well placed all the way round. Great last jump to take the lead and just held on.
R6 - Tertiary Byte finished 11th. One of my second stringers. Never expected much.
R7 - Lotus Girl finished 4th. That's a 2nd and a 4th she's had. Ran a decent race, just ran of out of steam in final half furlong.
R8 - Treasure Chest finished 12th. Never a factor in the race. Had a good 4th in week one so hoped he would do better than 12th.
All in all, a very good opening day to week 2. There are still 5 races to go on Tuesday and Wednesday of around 2 miles, so may get a few more good results.

 Re: League Weekly reaction
OK back to the wins v Prize money you look at the Table I have had no Flat winner in 40 races Paul has had 4 winners including the Dubai Gold Cup but yet I am above him in the Prize Money table just because I got a second in Dubai this is why it should be winners imagine if I had won the big one why should that make me Top Trainer it should come to win IMO.
Flat
OK still looking for my first flat winner so the struggle goes on I think i'm in the same boat has kev on the flat not good enough for group races but too high for handicaps a couple run ok and was surprised by Pathfinder getting second in the Dubai Duty Free he ran well though.
Jumps
2 winners 2 Seconds 2 thirds A 4th A 5th and 2 Unplaced
Good start to the season goes on sorry Darren I think Grey Misery was just coming to take your horse when falling at the last a good race though and unlucky.
Gray

 Re: League Weekly reaction
R1- Wonder Escopeta 3rd looked like he could challenge 2f out but got outpaced easily by the front two. Think he needs a stiff 1m2. R2 My Red 1st 2/2 for him. Won both of his races well and seems to be my best horse. R3 Frederick 3rd good run. However if this race is run 100 times he wouldn't get near the winner. R4 Pour it on 3rd before season started I thought this horse was one of my best. Maybe the league pace doesn't suit. R5 Prentals 1st great run. Got an easy lead and didn't look like being caught. R6 Drive by 3rd good run. The top 3 separated by a short head, could of won on a different day. R7 Dilalil 4th seems to be just short of group class. Will lower sights to listed class. R8 Tarayn signalman 4th ran on late down the outside. Could be competitive in group races. R9 Special game 1st got a dream run on the inside and won nicely off top weight. Didn't know what to expect here. Probably wouldn't of run him in the race If I knew he would win that well. R10 One Dime 1st Guineas hope won nicely. Overall a great set of results. Most of my best chances this weak ran on Mondays card so not expecting much for the rest of the weeks flat racing. Jumps R1 Diamond resolve 2nd good run. Ran on late to finish a short head behind the winner. R2 Never 5thR4 Diamond distant 4thR5 Diamond lane 10thR6 Binge 6th good run. Got a race in her off this mark. R7 Ban 1st won well. Could be a champion hurdle contender. R9 Mukkrow 9thSiriusChill wrote: Hey trainer James Harrison. I was looking at your previous years performance and you always had a good in the money percentage. This year you are winning big time. Did you change anything up? Put much more time in or something? You are doing great. I've been playing casually since the game was released and when I found a horse with interesting stats I would transfer them. I started breeding for the league a few weeks before the trials started. Instead of breading my fastest horses with my other fastest horses, which is what I used to do, I started breading horses to try to get the highest stat bars that I could and it seems to have worked.
