Post Training Woes
I thought I would have a try at training to see if I could play around with a horses stamina and speed.
In simple mode its defaulted to lot 2, cantering. It works fine, gets a horse back to ready to race and keeps them there.
When I use amber on training the bars fluctuate, making it hard work to get a horse at its racing best.
Kinda puts you off using manual training.
Does anyone on the forum know why this happens.

Because manual training is a fine art. It's very easy too.

I start training a fresh horse on amber(mid) 28 to 21 days before a race depending on how long ago their last race was. At 14 or 12 days before a race I turn the training to Red(heavy). The day before a race I switch the training back to amber and then skip to race day. My horses are always fit for races.

Particularly taxing races and races close together will zap your horses fitness. The fun part about manual training are some horses recover faster or slower. It's up to you to get your horse in peak shape. After a Triple Crown bid my horses usually need around 70+ days rest to get back into racing shape.

The idea of playing on simple training with horses always fit seems so unappealing to me. The micro managing of horses is what I prefer.

I train using weeks as a guide. Here is my current horse after 21 days rest. His green condition bar has not yet recovered to the 90% marker. I have to give him more days off before I start training again.

It took 2 more weeks of rest and 35 days in total to get him back to training shape.
