If you still get the error, then try removing options in the game like wide screen and zoom and let me know the results.

Download from the link posted above again. This time it will download all 11 stables.dat files in a data folder. Just drop the data folder into Program Files\SO4 and let me know what happens.

I've updated the pack to correct the errors highlighted by ripvan. I've also switched the BC meeting to the evening and moved the November Doncaster meeting to run in the afternoon splitting the two BC days as in real life.
Anyone who downloaded this prior to these changes only need update the data folder.

Nice schedules to all involved. Looking forward to playing my combined game.

This may be a case of me wanting my cake and eating it too, but would it be possible to have Royal Ascot show up for the Royal festival rather than just Ascot.

The only way you could get Royal Ascot to show up would be to clone Ascot and then rename. However, problem would then be that if you put it in UK courses, there would be no way as far as I am aware of stopping it from hosting everyday cards like all other courses. Only possible option would be to put it in NZ seen as I have no races included from that section, then switch the NZ flags to the Royal Ascot logo but I don't know if I could change NZ to RA on the country drop down menu. Could give it a shot if you want mate.

Now i know ur probably gettin tired of hearing my problems lol but ive stumbled across another. Shortly of the glorious goodwood meeting theres a meeting a deauville with 2 maidens and another feature race. My game keeps crashing on this day. It wont let me skip day, watch a race, or say skip 1 season when your starting i get the same message on this day.

Anyway all i seem to be doing is saying the problems its about time i mentioned what a great schelduel you 2 have done and your works much appreciated. I like the maiden races now especially for abroad cos before say for the first 2 y.o feature irish race none of the runners would have run before but now they have so it gives them form and adds to the realism. Top work

Interesting, I know someone else had an issue with that too, think it might have been Stotfold when designing it. I'll look into for you tomorrow.

Yep i can confirm that it does it on the combined one aswell. The day it crashes is on the 1st meeting at deauville so obviously something to do with the course.

Also just to let you know i did download and install stotsfolds schelduel so possibly something to do with that.

Yep i play with commentary and no i cant skip day, watch the race or skip 1 season when starting a new game.

I can't find the old thread about this so I don't know if my solution worked last time, but it's commentary related. I think if you turn commentary off, you should be able to continue past it for now while I search for that thread, stick commentary on on mine and have a look at fixes.

I had a look at the Royal Ascot idea and it's not gonna be worthwhile. As I said, leaving it in UK results in every day fixtures being run there. I moved it to NZ, replaced every NZish with Royal Ascot and it looked fine but the problem is it is still considered a foreign race festival, so the horses, jockeys and so on are not what you would want for Royal Ascot and that I can't do anything about.

cheers for that but neither the new sfx file worked or turning the commentary off worked so im stumped now. I tried doing a clean install but for some reason my file in program data is missing but its still there so when i uninstall the game and reinstall i still have my old save games. Do you know how i can find this file?

You can remove the saved game data by hitting the trashcan next to the slot and then do an uninstall. The weird thing about this error is as far as I can see every other file related error reported on the forum's relates to a file that actually exists, where as this one doesn't so not totally surprised creating a 550.wmv didn't work. All the sfx files in the 500's relate to distance but not sure how that relates to the races at Deauville if in fact it's linked.
If you have show hidden files ticked and SO4 folder is still not there, download mine from here and drop it into Program Data folder, edited names have been reset to originals, that resolved the issue for a few others when the file went amiss.
