Hi John

I agree about not needing foreign horses. I did use a couple early on in my save but only because they had the best bars.

I created both my flat and NH schedules with loads of longer distance races. Even in a UK based schedule there are not enough top class feature races over the longer distances.

After about 25 - 30 seasons and I have my breeding lines established I rarely use gamebred stallions in the barn. The ones I do use have some of my stallions in their bloodlines, usually two or three generations back.

I did the same with my jumps, I made lots of graded races over 3m4 plus. U can't use a normal jumps schedule, to uneven. I will use the overseas game stallions at the start, there's always 2 or 3 nice looking ones but after about 15 to 20 seasons I stop looking or breeding with game stallions. It's all on my horses then, after about 25 seasons I split my game, one chase and one hurdle and after about 35-40 seasons I split my chasers.

I've finished my breeding for next season , wanted it done well before Christmas. Does anyone else notice this , the more my horses bars get better like speed and stamina the more potential they lose. The potential on my horses are going backwards while my stam-speed are going up. It's like the Al is stopping my horses from getting better over jumps.

I thought it was just my new save causing this problem but now that you bring it up I see something similiar in my flat save.

All my flat yearlings have 90 - 92% potential and always reached 100% at 4yo but now about half my horses seem to stop improving at 96 or 97 %.

What is really strange is the sires\dams were all 100% at 4yo and the same pairings, (clones), don't seem to improve past 96% anymore. I did try going back a few seasons but the same thing happens.

I wondered if the problem was related to a maximum amount of bars. My average CB and ES was 65% and 90% but the new horese mostly have 75% CB and 95% ES. I also improved the Enthusiasm and Confidence by about 15 - 20%.

Mark looks like he's had a change of heart and is going to redo SO8. Wrote on twitter that it looks unlikely a new game this year.

I don’t think there is a maximum allowable total, but potential decline is common for me at least when a game gets old, 143 seasons now in my main NH game and getting to 100% is rare, all my lines used to do it, some of the breeders have it still and all have unrealised of 100%, they just stopped getting realised potential, maybe for around the last 40 seasons or so, hardly any if my team last season got to 100%. And neither of my flat games do it with any regulararity but then they never really have. The game does everything it can to downgrade, and the longer you play one the more it succeeds.
