this is urgent as only have 2 runners at the moment, and 1 may not be able to do it every week. The season will not go ahead with just this amount of race runners.

Most Maiden winners start around 110 Flat but size of field also means you have a tougher job if the Maidens are small fields A good field size you can go higher if say a Paul Rhodes wins a maiden in impressive Style.

Handicapping the handicaps a winner can go up at least 10points more if wins good i used to 10pts 1st 2nd 7pts third 5pts 4th2pts or 3pts 5th No Change then work 6th down dropping a 1pt or so Short Heads means you drop say 7th,8th the same points but be careful in big fields nothing should be dropped massively except tailed off runners from struggling stables which you can see after week2. but most are dropped 10pts for last home.

GROUP RATINGS first 4 or 5 go up same way but you can drop some off some horses but if it obvious that say a horse rated 80 is down the field it was most likely should of been in handicaps and i wouldn't drop these anything at all a trainer might be trying to get pounds off for future handicaps.

Remember if a horse Falls or Pulls Up on the jumps in Maidens on first run they all get a mark of 110 and never give a mark of 100 has Trainers will put horses in Handicap Hurdles/Chases although never been handicapped in that Code any Horse with 100 in Handicaps must be checked to make sure they have a handicap Mark for |That Code be it Hurdle or Chase. And if Not Scratched before race ran on TOM before downloading the race files.

I am not reliable when it comes to doing stuff for the league. I have been in and out of hospital 5 times over the last 18 months. I am going for another MRI this Thursday to check if the latest Op has been successful.

Maybe something to think about going forward. If you take out a paid Dropbox subscription it costs about £40 just to cover one league season or £100 for a yearly subscription. In the current financial climate, this may e a lot of money for someone.

I do computer stuff for my local golf club and use dropbox to sync the stuff I do at home with the clubs laptop and the match secretaries laptop. The same is true in reverse, anything I do on the club laptop is synced to my home laptop, same with the match secretary.
We only use one dropbox account, mine. The club laptop and the match secretaries laptop both use my login details to access dropbox. One paid account, 3 laptops using same login to access the files.

I think the same could work for the league. Set up one dropbox account for the league and share the login details with the various helpers. The only slight problem is the first time you try to access dropbox from another computer an email is sent to the account holder to verify it is ok for a different computer to access dropbox.
For security, you could change the dropbox password each league season and share it with any helpers.


Not sure if I will enter a team this season, I received some new games, Xcom2 and Battletech for xmas, spent all my time playing these games. Have not touched SO7 since before xmas. I started a new save before I stopped playing SO7 but it is only 35 seasons old and only 10 of those seasons were serious breeding, it took me 25 seasons of breeding just for bars to get the various bars up to a decent level.

I will be keen to participate in this season - but unfortunately I cannot help out in any format as work and child no.2 will be eating up all my time during the season, apologies.

This is a good idea, the paid dropbox certainly didn't help my enthusiasm with helping out last year.

I Have Dropbox but downgraded back to free version has i was paying Monthly and wasn't paying for when the Season finished and it was only used for the League i Will upgrade it again when league starts

Hi Alex,

I suspect maybe there are a number of trainers who were leaving it to the last minute to finalise their stables. I for one have been busily trying to determine in trials who to select and was going to upload them all this week. I know in speaking to a number of other trainers on Discord they are probably doing the same.

Still another month is good as I was thinking I could have done with at least another week to get ready!

Maybe we should have a poll of who is definitely in, who is definitely out and who is a maybe.

I'm in the definitely in category.

As mentioned, would moving away from dropbox work? It would allow more people to help and save those that pay only to help the league. Cloud storage has become cheaper since I guess dropbox was first being used.

Google Drive - 15 gig free
One Drive - 5 gig free, but i'm guessing most have a plan (to run Word,excel) and then it goes to 100 gig up to 6 TB

Also are we able to another trial and I can try to run them. Happy with no comms but maybe Paul can try, I know he may be keen.
