 Gallops
Are Gallops training more for
1) Determining which horses are ready to run or
2) Determining which horses are better.
Could gallops be used in conjunction with or maybe *instead* of using the ck builder? Or they used for completely different uses?

I think if you run them a few times before the maiden, it helps to 'run the green' out of them so to speak. To be honest, it just seems a better way to bump up fitness without any major tax on anything else. Skill as a racer in relation to placement in gallops is sort of accurate. In relation to times run in gallops to real racing times is beyond me, they seem about 4-6 seconds slower, but this is all from memory. IDK what the CK builder is though so xD dunno if I can say too much about that.
I'm pretty sure if you do gallops on dirt enough it will also tell you if your horse doesn't like the kickback... don't recall though.

Just discovered a nice little beneficial feature of the "Gallops".
I have a horse with a breeding indicator of 1m3f. He only ever gets 1m3f, never more, never less. If I run him at 1m2f, Jockey feedback says says " he could do with another furlong". If I run him at 1m4f, jockey feedback says" Try a furlong shorter next time. Then I experimented with the gallops.
I put him into a 1m2f race, and ran him over a 1m gallop on the day of the race, to use up some condition on the horse. His green condition bar was level with his lower red bar (about 90%). Low and behold, he goes out and wins his first race over 1m2f, albeit 90% of his 1m3f breeding index.
Subsequently, I tried him at 1m4f at 100% condition (No Gallop on Race Day), but stuck a pacifier on him (Visor in this instance and had instructed jockey to "Challenge Later"). He came 2nd, but the Jockey Feedaback said "Got the trip well". Just a couple of discoveries Ive made, years after playing through the SOrders series.
You all probably know this in anyway......
