Just one more question Mark, know you are a busy man. In SO5 will we be able to buy any horse from in the game? Like in real life.

I'm a big fan of the audio commentary (unlike otherrs), so was pleased to see this on the list of new features:- "Introduction audio commentary added on race day menu". Does this mean we get a few words about specific meetings/feature races maybe? hoping so.....

If not, what does this mean exactly??

This has been talked about and there are potential problems with it. For example: Use artmoney etc., Buy the best horses in the game and ruin it within about half an hour.

There is a potential for a few game horses to come up in the yearly auction but I still have to look at it.



The Audio introduction is a simple piece designed to add a bit of variation and possibly help with the atmosphere (which being a strategy game is non existent on the menu's). For example. The announcer will say something like 'Welcome to Newbury for this six race card. The weather is sunny and the going is good. The first race is a 6 furlong 7 runner handicap.'.



The idea is that trainers do not buy at all but must attract owners. I have yet to see how this pans out. This is why the new mode is separate from the standard old mode. But there is a lot of potential to develop this.



We have been through this last time. You know I'm married to Starters Orders (and she's a bitch!).

Mark what about what Tomas mentioned about different horse colours like bays, whites, chestnuts etc will you be adding these colours to the finished game?

Waow, just came across the list... Fantastic! I especially love the inclusion of french racecourses, but:
1/ regarding Auteuil, have you taken into consideration that there are a multitude of very distinct courses? Especially the very distinct inner (easier) and outer (more difficult, with the dreaded rail ditch and fence) tracks in steeplechase, with some long races involving one then the other? Plus the diagonal tracks and some (rare) races that skip the stands' river, that makes a whole lot of different combinations...
2/ will there be both the grass and dirt tracks in Deauville?

The colour in the screenshots are those that will be in the finished game. There is a chance this will change but for now, no. If it does it will be added to the list.

Looks great Mark, i notice there doesnt seem to be any jockey affiliation e.g. In the Queen Anne Stakes pic, Hayley Turner is riding for Saeed Bin Suroor where it would normally be Frankie Dettori, will this feature be included?

In the same kind of vein, for a meeting like Royal Ascot, will there be trainers from other countried present e.g. A O'Brien or J Oxx??

Looks great Mark, cant wait. One thing I hope has been improved is the AI trainers, in SO4 you only needed to buy 1 horse at the pre season auctions for £450,000 win a few major races and you won the trainer championship even though the other trainers had over 20 horses. I hope its much tougher to win the championship this time ie have a few trainers who are consistantly winning group 1's with numerous horses

Bang on the money....it needs to be alot tougher..heres hoping ...new features look dynamite and no doubt panthers schedule will be top knotch...great stuff
