Would SO be better without the betting feature?
Personally I think it would be simply because it would make it so much more difficult to buy the breeding barn or get to the point where money is no object.

It is easy: If you don't want to bet, don't bet! (There are several ways to get huge amounts of money. You can use progs like artmoney. You decide, because it is your game and your fun.)

Have you not heard of ARTMONEY? An even bigger pet peeve. The only reason I mentioned the topic was that I think you should have to WORK to get to the point where you can buy the breeding barn...

Re: Would SO be better without the betting feature?
i dont understand why people get upset with other people using art money it baffles me it does not effect anyone else if you use art money is it not a free world down to the own persons choice
i give myself a loan of 5 million at start of a game to get started with breeding etc and pay it back take 5million from my balance when im set up.
its the same in real life people borrow to get started and some billionaires set up tainers to me its the same thing

Yes maybe you should have to work harder to make the game work but whats the point in taking betting out when you can use art money to do the same thing to boost your bank roll. Take the betting out by all means, I dont use it myself and would like to see something else added in its place to make the game that much greater gameplay wise.

Re: Would SO be better without the betting feature?
If the betting was taken out, we'd lose the odds for the races wouldn't we? that doesn't seem right to me? How are we meant to judge favouritsm/potential/handicap effects/progress?
If we want the game to remain as realistic as possible, then whoever heard of a horse race with no betting?

Re: Would SO be better without the betting feature?
Never had a bet in SO of any version but Real racing has betting so for SO5 to be more realistic it needs betting in my opinion.
