Post Breeding issues
Anyone else have big breeding issues?
I reckon I get a 25% success rate on breeding matches. Its a nightmare and takes ages to get a decent crop of yearlings. They just aren't successful and when I repeat, they just don't succeed!

Driving me mad!

Me too, its a bit more realistic. But a tad annoying, I'm sure we'll learn to live with it though.

In SO4 all of mine were successful. Don't know whether that was a result of a patch or something. Was pretty useful.

Longer season now means I've finished breeding by July which is good.

Even though it is annoying it is much more realistic, in previous versions it was far to easy to breed top class horses.

For me i find the whole breeding screen is a mess;

It doesnt show the correct feature wins on many of my mares
the group wins isnt displayed with mares, it is covered by the feature wins icon
you cannot see the bottom the list of mares
the quality of mares is shocking, some that cannot even win sellers !!
you should be able to cancel breeding
it should tell you how many yearlings you have breed
you should be able to view those yearlings
keyboard buttons dont work, ie arrows, page up etc

I generally agree with the above and would like to add that the CK could have been better/more reliable and functionality improved for the people interested in the league i.e the export whole crop of G's, export selected option.

I must admit I am a little disappointed that the breeding barn hasnt been cleared up, because that was one of the main bones of contention for me in the last game.

It would only take a bit of tidying up & organising and doesnt need a major overhaul or anything like that.

im sad to see the same issue as was in so3 and so4 and are back in so5

when you click on a 2yo then click back out and click on the same 2yo again you can get totally different stats
mianly the stanima bar it is frustrating to see it in so5 as i thoght stats were going to be given a big overhaul
its same as issues with breeding barn breeding indicators & so on are exact same issues in so4

everyone knows i love this game and support mark 100%

it just seems alot of stuff has been transfered from so4 to so5 and not updated i can understand this its tough for 1 man to do it all
some of the improvements in so5 are amazing and very pleasing but also a few bits from older versions and a bit frustrating

but amazing job with so5 not having a pop
its just some of theese issues have been around since 2008

i still love Starters Oders prob more than ever

I actually don't agree with you guys (in regards to breeding) /ducks the rotten veggies ;)

I think the success rates are fine.

In fact I have one paticular Stallion that has not failed with any Mare that he has bred with.

I also have one Stallion that has around a 50% rate of breeding with mares, so I just put this down to various factors such as the horses just didn't get on, or a problem with the mare fertility.

I've had one Stallion as low as 20% success, but that's fine because he probably has issues :)

I suppose we have to remember that there are only around 2 weeks for the horses to get on and get down to business.
I would be interested to know what the real life success percentage is for horses to actually breed within a 2 week slot.

I guess what I am saying is that every horse shouldn't be able to breed, or be highly successful all the time such as the same with human re-production issues.

I like it the way it is.

PJ the stats changing with 2YO's is because they are maturing. (I think) like when their stamina will increase from 2-3 it's just happening at 2 as you look at them, they are between two distances/stamina levels.

Got to be honest that I am a little disappointed with the amount of cr*p still being retired to stud. This year in my game there are at least 20-30 virtually useless horses in my breeding barn some rated less than 60, also the fact that when you select to have the highest rated horses at the top these horses are always on top and you have to scroll through to get to the good ones. Then add the fact that every time you click on a horse data screen or confirm a mating the list goes right back to the top makes for an extremely annoying experience in my books! Anyone agree?

my main issue with the stats of 2yo

for example i click on ernist hemmingway a 2yo colt he is bred to be a mile 4f horse at 3
one moment i click on him he has 7f to 1m stamina then i click on him again and he has 1m2-1m4 stamina i click on him again and its back to 7f - 1m stamina thats my issue how do you no what race to place them in if the stats keep changing exact same issue as so3 & 4
