Post Noob Question Alert.
When I go to make race declaration after the race description at bottom left of the screen there's sometimes a square shape with the letter H in it , and sometimes another letter , without waiting till teatime till I get home I can't remember which other letter, what do they stand for ?

I don't think I've ever seen an 'H'. But there is CDG which stand for course, distance, ground respectively, it tells you that the horse has won on the course, at the distance and on the ground conditions. They can appear all together or separately.

There is also a 'D' next to the race name if the race is run on dirt (all weather in this country) and a 'T' next to the race name if it is on the turf. I cannot see an 'H'

Also, if I run my 2 year olds over gallops hurdles and have the same horse as lead horse all the time , and I do this regularly, say twice a month, would that lead horse then become USED to being a front runner and therefore should be used as a front runner in jockey tactics when it comes to racing, and vice versa for the horses behind it, would they then need to be raced handy or even pace for example ?

Sorry Supercat, I could well of been mistaken there. I'll need to check when I get home. As for the cdg , I was aware what that meant. But they're in small white boxes next to horses name , I'm talkin about the race declaration screen andall the races are shown at amttmw left of the screen , I thought it was an orange letter in a green box . Also , I've never seen a race run on any graphic other than green grass yet, and I'm in 2020 now. Does the aw race not Iev run on a dirt coloured track ?

I don't know about the tactics thing. I never use 2yo's to lead 2yo's and also never gallop 2yo's over hurdles! I would imagine the tactics would remain the same, I use hold up horses to lead my 2yo's if that horse is the best at the distance I'm testing. I only ever use my best 3yo+ horse at the distance I'm testing to lead the 2yo's because otherwise you won't know which one performs best out of the bunch if you force one to lead all the time. But you might be galloping for different reasons. I hardly ever do it anyway.

The yellow letter in a green circle (that's how I see it) is a 'T' for turf. If you're playing jumps only then you won't have the all weather because no jumps races are run on the all weather.

Thanks SuperCat , that makes sense seeing as I only ever play jumps. Another one for you. Almost every horse RUNS A LITTLE FREELY , is this good or bad and how do I sort it ?

Also in the (I think) juvenile races there's either a C7 or a C4 , does that mean Class ? And which is the higher class 4 or 7 ?

Class 4 is higher thasn class 7. Class 1 is the top.

"Running a little freely" isnt good at all, you can try gelding them (if they are colts/stallions), or possibly use a pacifier, but often best to get rid of them - check some other posts for further discussion on this.

Don'y geld for 'runs freely' it isn't good but it probably won't affect your results and you'll waste LOADS of potential breeding horses. You'll breed it out over time, only geld if you get 'not settle', or sell if it's a filly. Pacifiers don't work in my opinion, but others disagree. There are millions of threads about this where I have pretty much written the same thing so have a search of the forum.

If it's only on the Jumps game, I believe the "H" stands for Hurdles and the other letter would be a "C" standing for a Chase.
