I have some good 2 year old stallions who refuse to settle. I have tried blinkers, visors and cheek pieces all three and those are not having an effect. I know the next course of action is gelding but I really hate to do that to a horse who has 90% of it's potential bar filled since of course that means no offspring.
I have also tried different experience jockeys and they can't seem to do anything with the horse either.

Any advice?

Not many options other than Gelding or get rid pal!

Guess I will close my eyes and utter 'This is going to hurt me more than it will hurt you' as I press the button.

I just usually get rid of horses that won't settle, not interested in them if I can't breed from them and they just take up room in my stable

Well no breeding from this horse, but he may have a career after all. I had ran him twice in maidens and he came in 7/8 and 4/9 and then I gelded him and ran him again. Won by 11 1/2 lengths.
Now to increase his competition and see how he does.

If you are going to geld a horse, you can do it by banging two bricks

together. But the only way it will hurt you is if you get your thumbs

in the way.

I run them as 2 year olds then on 1st start as 3 y.o if they still dont settle i view training screen, if the head lad says may benefit from gelding then i geld them and sell straight away.
I play flat only and only really want to win the classics for which and G1's for which only entire colts and fillys are allowed to enter, dont want to sell a dodge pot entire then have him come back and beat me!
If i played combined jumps/flat and horse was breeding pref 1m+ i would keep them and send them jumping.

If they are not settled by 3 after gelding and performing to the potential. I just get rid normally, however have had them come back as 4/5 year olds and beat me in a classic, which is annoying!

Thought classics were for 3 year olds??!

Glad I kept this horse. I am in my third season in Australia and it 'won' the G2 Hill stakes but was disqualified on a dubious inquiry. Next up was a disappointing 8th in the Spring Champion Stakes. I thought perhaps this horse just couldn't make the leap to G1 races and might be a jinxed horse. It crushed those thoughts two weeks later when it won the Cox Plate. Far and away the biggest win for our stable yet. It also came in 2nd in a earlier G1 the Kelt Capital stakes.
This horse had the makings of being a very solid champion. When he reaches age 5 or 6 I will auction him off since I can't breed him. Who knows what they AI will pay for him. It will be a good test for the AI.
