Best Horse Bought At Mid-Season Auction ? Is this it ?
I entered a handicap C2 hack into a 2400m race, it finished down the track in a boring mid week meeting. When i finished with the races for the day I was taken to the auction screen where i came across the best current horse in the game right now. This thing has won 13 group 1's to date from 1400m to 2400m and its a stallion to boot What is the best horse you have purchased mid season

in starters orders 4 I bought a stallion worth about 5,000,000 bucks... Had won around 15 group 1's and a few group 2's and 3's...
Sent him straight to the breeding barn and was able to produce hundreds of terrific racers, broodmares and stallions...

In Starters Orders I purchased a two time Arc winner (he won both the Arcs for me, and he is a cool stud too) and a brilliant stayer.

I have learned to check the auction every single week now. It takes patience and discipline not to click past it, but every now and then you can find a grade winner and have an instant breeding part fixture. But you also have to be careful. I go into the auctions and see 2 yo's who have yet to race and drop 2.5 million on them and bring them home only to find out that they are best suited for a life of having a plough attached to them. I usually waste 6-8 million a season on these horses.
It is probably just sample size and bad luck but I have yet to pick up a decent horse in a mid season auction that is an un-raced two year old.
